Gambling is the same as a drug. The dopamine/adrenaline hit you get when you win is extremely addictive. I started sports betting $10 in '15 and you are correct next thing you know I'm driving from LA to Vegas every weekend betting up to $1k a bet. Ruined my relationship and business. The country shut down in 2020 and it saved me. Had time to step back and reflect and haven't made a bet since. I appreciate you spreading this message. Love all your content but had to comment on this one.

yes GAMBLE is tthe drug - because of that people dont make money on stocks and crypto (most of them - daily traders are gamblers - PURE ones, even MtG flipfloppers which I hate most are gamblers and I hope they will all bancrupt soon, shxtxxckers..... betting sports is not for amateurs. We had 20 y ago group of 20 betters - bookies called us here in central europe Bandits... we ruled them and made a lot of money - but we used for it not only straight betting but sports stock exchanges (betfair f.e.) - we were 20 of us, every each of one specializing on one sport (tennis, hockey, football, lacrosse, skiing, water polom, handball athletics and so on) or part of it (hockey from the B division down, or men/women in each sport) and we shared every info in the group - I called it colective betting - 5 of us didnt make it and started gambling - but those who were able to keep the discipline and follow the rules were from 7 to 25% net profit every year - we ended up in 2012 when they changed legislation in our country and foreign bet companies were banned in czech rep.... we had never been betting such shits as NHL, first football leagues and sports where bookies were well oriented - rhat was the spirit of succes - be better and better infomed than abookies - so we built the army of twenty and these were the most funny years in my life - but it was gamble but controled and with constant profit - very few of people can do this - to keep the discipline and stakes and dont start to gamle - you have to know when you lose and go away from the bar..

I worked with a guy who made about $80k a year (lots of OT). He did a lot of smaller sports betting on his phone. He never cashed out. He kept rolling over the winnings into future bets. His luck ran out. He quit and cashed out like $10k, which is a lot of money. He got a 1099 from the betting site stating he had $140k in winnings for the year and the IRS said he owed taxes on $220k of annual earnings. He had to hire a tax lawyer to prove he didn't "win" $140k. It was scary for the guy. Luckily, the IRS settled with him because initially, they wanted to garnish his life.

I think the rise of gambling is due to 3 things: 1) The stranglehold that consumerism and addiction has on society 2) The rise of social isolation due to the accessibility and volume of entertainment, and the lack of places to just hang out in public that aren't bars or other places that you spend money, especially for younger people 3) The economic struggle that many people are facing, making them willing to take high risk to break out of their dire situations

Well, I'm 27 now and in that time I put myself through university, got a good job, bought a house (albeit with a mortgage I am still paying off), own my own vehicle, and have a growing retirement fund. Cases are bad too but I think because there's less variety in it I can handle myself better doing that. I might spend a few hundred in a week on cases but in online casinos there's so much variety, it's made to make you spend more....Still bad no matter what, but I think it's better to take accountability and turn the negative feelings into a reason to quit.

Hello Rudy, long time viewer here directly from Brazil, i can assure you that is a true epidemic in gambling here, it took every media as hostage, great soccers teams are sponsored by gambling corporations , most TV channels have a sponsor related to gambling. There's studies saying that even among the poor population who receive welfare money at least 30% of them spend money in some sorting of gambling sites. I know a few friends who used to buy MTG in the past days now getting their "hit" from a gambling online game or betting site and is very sad. There's even a incredible misconception that gambling sites and betting sites are viewed as a form of "investment" , its just crazy...

Folks rudy is 100000% correct. Bruno Mars lost $50 million to MGM in las vegas. He is now doing shows for the foreseeable future to pay them off. Hes already been there 2 years with rumors he will be there for the next decade

@ I started with a couple Tim Ferris books (4-hour workweek and tools of titans) around 7 years ago and continued to gain knowledge in the ecom space and develop + grow trusted brands to either sell them or create passive income while diversifying my income into investments with TCG collectibles / solid dividend stocks / crypto / real estate. It’s a slow grind but getting out of trying for fast money and focusing on long term truly pays off. Best of luck to you

The problem is 6-8% a year doesnt even cover the debasement of currency, if you dont have any real wealth you have to take higher risks to earn real returns.
@nastybandit32219 күн бұрын
The thing is you are supposed to continually earn and invest small to moderate amounts. So you would be adding to your original amount and it appreciates. Also inflation is targeted at about 2-3% so 6-8% over a long time not a bad 4 year period should win.
@anonymoususer18245 күн бұрын
@nastybandit322 if you believe inflation is 2-3% I have a bridge to sell you. Literally look at the price of anything over a 12 month period and tell me it's gone up by 3%. Yea ok bud.

It's called "late stage capitalism". Gambling is the only way to beat the impossible odds of getting ahead in today's market.

A conception that marxists invented which never came to fruition. No, I prefer what philosophers like Oswald Spengler used to call it, societal degradation.
