I honestly hate the game awards because it’s makes it seem like there is only one true objectively best game when we all know that’s not even close to true. You can’t compare a game like COD to smash bros because they’re two completely different games that absolutely nothing in common. And also the game awards is slowly becoming the Oscars and we all know how they’re doing…

All award shows are dumb how are the judges smarter than normal gamers. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t fun to watch and vote on and argue about. Also I’m there for the announcements anyway

@THEONETRUEOVERLORD Last year’s show was terrible. I watched the entire thing live through the night, and it was filled with actors and celebrities yapping while the actual award winners were told to gtfo the stage so TGA could show the 100th irrelevant game trailer. Additionally, I enjoyed Baldur’s Gate 3, but it winning in almost every category it was nominated in was extremely boring to watch (there wasn't even an unexpected moment like in 2022). Overall, it was a bad experience and I don't think I'm going to watch TGA live this year.

I appreciate Brothership, but I have doubts about its nomination for GOTY. It does have some noticeable flaws, some of which are unprecedented in the series. Among Nintendo games, Echoes of Wisdom seems to have a better chance of being nominated. TTYD received positive ratings similar to those of Zelda, but it is a faithful remake that lacks substantial new features and content in order to justify a nomination. I genuinely hope Astrobot wins this year. It would serve as a valuable message to Sony and mark a long-awaited victory for 3D platformers in the GOTY category.

GOTY is a joke, a DLC and a remake gets nominated and the voting system is not based on the players votes. I wanted Astro Bot to win, but it wont since the critics and journalists thinks it has too much water.

Persona 3: Reload, Sonic & Shadow Generations, and TTYD were all deserving of a nomination for "Best Soundtrack." But to be fair, they're all essentially reissues of games that are over 10 years old, and the competition this year was tough.
