10:27, title caption says DJI Mic2 (Wirless) but you're using the Godox during that part of the test. Also, the GoDox sounds a little more "canned" in the tests for both unsurpressed noise cancelling as well as the noise cancelling modes. Becomes more obvious in the Outdoor tests towards the end. You read my mind! I was looking for an alternative to the DJI Mic 2. I actually found a huge flaw in the Mic 2 when hooked up to an Action 4 (and maybe 5 Pro). In Pre-Rec mode the Mic 2 will time out and turn off. Leaving you with no audio an hour later when that fish decides to eat your bait. My next fishing video is a voiceover video... 🙄 Edit: a mic for my Sony ZV-E10 ii (yes I got the 2 instead of 1)
@harryvuemedia5106Ай бұрын
Dji's innovation is the reason why i went with their Mic 2 microphones. I love Rode Go-ii but DJI had me sold on the Mi hotshoe adapter. Its a huge game changer especially with my fx3. I can dont have to use an audio cable and i can keep the transmitter charging. Good to see that Godox went the same route with their wireless mics too. Rode needs to do the same on their future Go-ii mics or get left behind. As of now, I am waiting for DJi or Sony to release a transmitter that can connect up to 4 wireless mics. 2 is not enough anymore especially when these mirrorless cameras can record in 4-audio channel.

I understand that the convenience factor of going wire-free is appealing, but the biggest asset of the hot-shoe for audio is that it bypasses the crappy 3.5mm mic jack preamps, which is where lots of audio quality is dropped, and the audible noise floor is introduced. I'd love to see them make a 2 or 4 XLR input module, with optional phantom power, and really good preamps, that attaches via the hot-shoe. They would sell a lot of them if they made it. That way folks could attach any mic they want to their cameras without losing sound quality.
@sparkestudioАй бұрын
@@MarksUkuleleTips ummm you mean the Sony XLRK3M? Or you mean something else? The interface is kind of large and over priced I think and the Vocaster Two I could swear has better sound quality for far less money.
@MarksUkuleleTipsАй бұрын
@@sparkestudio The XLRK3M is ridiculously big, and costs €672.14. It's not great for most people, just to get good audio into their camera. I was talking about a way to get audio into your camera without having to use the noisy 3.5mm input jack. The hot-shoe is a way to bypass that, if they make some devices that use it in a practical way. You could avoid having to record audio to a second device and syncing in post. You could use one device (the camera) on location or in studio, whereas an interface would have you tied to a computer for audio so would be only suitable for studio use. Do you know what I mean? Have you tried the Vocaster? It looked interesting for podcasters.

Great video as always. As a creator who makes dramedy and webseries content of late, I’m interested in wireless mic solutions that can be hidden with a lavelier mic rather than the obnoxious “rode” or “godox” billboards the actors have to wear as mics. For me the start of pro quality audio starts with a senheiser me2 lav which is a locking ring pin, so that immediately eliminates Godox, Dji and Lark. Only the rode 2 pro? has a locking ring but I haven’t tried it yet so stick to my bulky senheiser wireless mic pack. Hope the new generation of wireless mics incorporate locking ring ports for this reason as no serious influencer other than daily vloggers are going to use their giant branded bulky, and therefore in my opinion useless mics currently, or use their proprietary lavs without locking rings as there is not enough R and D to beat senheiser lav mics who rule the roost on this one.

Lavelier microphones and such small pendants all have the same thing in common, they have small capsules. Therefore, the quality of the internal camera microphones is similar. So when such small microphones have to record a large dynamic range, they quickly reach their limits and tend to overdrive and you can hear this all the time. I'm just wondering why these microphones of all things are enjoying a boom on the market. Personally, I would like to see the development of better reporter microphones like the Rode Interview Pro, for example. Ideally, I would then be able to swap the capsules between the omnidirectional and cardioid characteristics and then also be able to record 32bit internally. But be able to record and monitor in the camera at the same time. Two channels like the Comica VM40 would be ideal, they have a similar solution with Shotgun. The whole thing linked with timecode, simply perfect.
@MarkBennettCameraCrisis16 күн бұрын
These lav mics are much better than internal mics just for placement alone. On someone's chest (which creates a much richer sound with the voice resonating in the body) and the fact that the mic is so close to the mouth. I've done tons and tons of tests of a cameras internal mic to someone wearing a lav. The lav wins every time by a lot
@brodtkunst12 күн бұрын
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I am aware that there must always be qualitative differences. In addition, the scope becomes clearer and more defined near the source. My guess on the reasons why this isnt well known is because the audio quality takes a hit, similar to the DJI version..... they had a previous version and the audio did produce a significant amount of noise, and I'm highly confident that the audio is recorded as analog rather than digital.
@MarkBennettCameraCrisisАй бұрын
the Godox and the DJI with adapter overrides the Sony mic settings, which is the same thing that Sony's own hot-shoe mics do. So it appears to be a digital signal, but did you mean to say that the audio sounds better analog than digital when using DJI?
@CharlieVNАй бұрын
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis right, godox sent me the previous version, and I combed the documentation to see whether it's a digital or analog signal, no information found, and from my testing with sony's hot mics is that the analog signal is noisy, while the digital signal is clean, and this was with one of sony's analog hot mics? I forget the model, but it was an analog hot mic and the wired sounded better than the analog signal (both technically analog signals, confusing, I know), but it also defeats the point to buy a hot mic and use the wire instead..... to clarify, the mi hotshoe can pass either analog or digital signal, and not mentioning what type of signal is passed, I can only assume that both the DJI and Godox pass analog because that would be a highly advertised feature if otherwise.

Can you connect the DJI mic which comes with the Pocket 3 creator combo to a Sony Camera by buying that DJI adapter? Or does that particular mic just work with the Pocket 3? The Hollyland blows the others away in quality.
@MarkBennettCameraCrisisАй бұрын
The adapter connects to the receiver. So you’d need the receiver which is the most expensive part

If they just had the 3.5 mic jack.

Is there a way to get 4 laveliers + transmitters on a Fx6 or Fx9?
Looking forward to the next gen hollyland that has the no cable solution and 32 bit float without making the transmitters any bigger! One can dream…

I was just playing my Sony Playstation 2, started this video and now I'm playing my son's PS5. Has nothing to do with this video

Did you shoot the outdoor test clips with this Sony G Lens? Is this the Sony 16-55 aps-c lens?
@MarkBennettCameraCrisisАй бұрын
The walking shots was the sony 11mm apsc on the zv-e10ii. The seated outdoor shots was the 15-25 G on the ZV-E1

i thought this was about Sony getting an A mount battery to E mount inlet adapter or a huge A6700A revamp where they added a better hardware (like 1/8000 mechanical or a joystick) I am disappointed.

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis well Sony can screw themselves then. I was hoping for an APS-C BSI sensor on an A7IV/RV like body with a 2K finder and a 1920p screen but no. I am still under the good old dilemma: Sony A6700 or A7IV? I am a hobbyist but I do a lot of wildlife and aviation, I demand good AF and a crop sensor, but I also love low light scenarios and astro, so a full frame sensor suits me more. The A7RIV is a good all rounder and the fixed screen ain't a problem since I can just use IEM on the phone, but all my lenses are Minolta and A7RIV is only compatible with LA-EA4 I'm very inclined to get the A7IV, but I'm afraid the 14mp crop won't serve much if I had to crop an aircraft a lot... AAAAAAAAAAAA

The noise cancelling is surprisingly solid, doesn’t seem to meaningfully diminish the sound quality in the higher frequencies which is usually the unfortunate effect of noise cancellation.

I was pretty impressed with it too

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis how’s the NC on the Lark M2? I agree that the Godox NC was very impressive. Those are on my buy-it list! Greetings from far too hot Florida!

I disagree, that noise noise reduction is too harsh, it degrades the audio quality with that recognizable over processed warbly "quality". They have a great product, having a 3.5mm lav input and internal recording would be a great added value.
