Actually Bob, I believe H1Z1 pioneered the genre in 2015, PUBG in 2017, however there were some ARMA mods that were kind of similar a bit earlier, but not quite. H1Z1 really did it. I already typed this and see someone brought it up, disregard haha.

H1Z1 didn't have the popularity and peak PUBG had. PUBG is basically H1Z1 remastered.

Ive been waiting 7 years for even one single game to come out to let me put pubg in the bin, surprising considering there is so much money to be made but money cant buy good ideas and that right there is a big reason why the gaming industry is so constipated with talentless ceo's who wouldnt know a good game if it came over and sucked the off.

For me it was Black Ops 2 then a hole was left in my gaming life than PUBG came around and literally nothing worth my time since. Sure great games have came out but they are mostly solo rpg.

The perfect BR to me would be the movement mechanics of fortnite zero build because PUBG feels so damn clunky and slow, with projectile bullets from Fort but worse recoil (hitscan is stupidly easy, projectile was better but still too easy), but not recoil to the level of PUBG so it's more enticing to a larger audience, the styling/mechanics of the world from PUBG, but better (no cartoony crap like Fortnite, but better visually), the required game sense like PUBG, and no crazy abilities/items of fortnite. honestly mix the two up like that and I would never play anything else.

I want a cleaner more realistic map. Like how does Rockstar make better maps for console. RD2 map for example. Personally I think the gun mechanics in PUBG are amazing.
