@Brendan Warren all his comments in that interview were spot on and im glad he was able to be honest and speak the truth on how he truly feels. Alot of African Americans are scared of what others will say or think of them if they are honest about how they feel. The only reason racism 'exists' or is an issue in the world right now is because everyone keeps talking about it. Lets be honest, there will always be those few people that are just plain ignorant and have no place in society; the white guy that hates every person that isnt white or the black guy that hates everyone that isnt black etc. But like i said America doesnt have a racism problem like we did decades ago. Its an issue because politicians want it to be a problem so they can therefore control the people more easily and use us as their puppets. And unfortunately its working. Quit talking about it and dont let the elites continue brainwashing you into their agenda. Then magically the problem doesnt exist anymore! Whalah

If this garbage honestly is viewed as being "deep", then I can only imagine the depth of your intelligence. This is nothing short of retarded sappy rap shit. Guess what happens when you "choose" to live a life of crime and glorify the ignorant lifestyle of gangsters, you end up in hell or prison. There is nothing cool, hard, or glamorous about being murdered over stupid shit or going to prison because you refuse to just get a goddamn job and dress and act like abnormal respectable human.

Christopher Cunningham I appreciate what you say but for the man on the roof top to chastise a man on the basement for glimpsing for the first time the steps up isn't fair unless the man on the roof found the journey to the roof was to dangerous for that man .some of us keep walking and looking for those steps as a atonement for this world or a glorious tribute of faith to the Lord's spirit that does abide.

Listening it as a 30 year old who grew up in the hood and made it out of it, with three college degrees and a clean track record whilst having the misfortune of losing eight childhood friends & acquaintances who died from various reasons (the most recent which occurred last week) hits different than back then. Seeing people I grew up doing bad decisions, killing others, themselves (I almost did myself twice) or going to jail for drug issues made me choose otherwise. I guess, watching my older brother going back & forth to jail when I was a teen gave me no choice but to escape the hood. And now I'm restraining myself from sobbing.

This song always makes me tear up. Then, I start thinking of my childhood best friend that was killed in a drive-by a few hours after I went in the house. I use to think that what if I was there when it happened would I had died too. But me being me I never tell anyone any of this I just keep it in. Hell, I don't know why I'm posting it to YT when probably no one cares but I guess it's go to get off my chest to a bunch of strangers.

Damn The Game murdered this track in a good way, R.I.P to the game father, I am close to my dad as well I know it's a stigma in the black community that fathers are not their for their children, but for the ones that are it's a great thing, because that's the first leader of a young man's life a father figure, it's so many children and adults male and female on earth lacking one. Everyone stayed prayed up and saved up because we all are living on borrowed time.
