I finished this game as a 12 year old 1992 out of sheer hatred for the game. I memorised every little jump from thousands of restartrs and playthroughs. One of the only couple of dozen games I had finished by that age. I still remember the 8 bit theme tune, the little jump sounds, the sounds when you get hit etc. - and I haven't played it in 30 years!

Although the show had been out for a few years by the release of the game, it looks like most of the references to the show were based upon the first season. The boss at the end of the mall level was the Babysitter Bandit from the first seasons last episode, Some Enchanted Evening. The concept of beating Sideshow Bob by jumping on his feet comes from season one's Krusty gets Busted. Jebediah Springfield's statue talking to you, and later being a collectable head comes from The Telltale Head from, you guessed it, season one. The museum boss is Marvin Munroe who, outside of a few bit parts, doesn't appear outside of season one also. The Space Mutants in the game don't even look like the Space Mutants in the show because their first big main appearance comes from the first Treehouse of Horror episode in season 2. Looks like the mini boss in the mall level is Mad About Shoe, though.
@Luni25Күн бұрын
You’re confusing Kang and Kudos with the Space Mutants. The Space Mutants in the series is a series of low budget Sci-Fi/horror movies, and the 4th entry is even seen in the theater from the same episode where Bart cut the head off the Jeb Springfield statue. That said, these aliens in this game don’t match the Space Mutants from the movie (but there is a quick reference right at the start of the game, as Bart passes by the theater!)
