The game definitely needed G-Unit in order to blow up. At that period of time.. NOBODY was buying any other west coast artist music besides Snoop. East coast had the rap game. Being with 50 gave him the validation he needed. and because of all of the buzz and success of 50 Cent, the mainstream decided to give him a listen.

This is true. Dr. Dre didn't know what to do with him hence they asked 50 to take him and push him. Aftermath at the time had so many talented rappers that never saw the light of the day and The Game could have been one of them if not for 50 Cent taking him to G-Unit.

Gunit was still in there infancy, they all dropped their debut albums. Sky was the limit with 50 in charge, he wasn’t looking to snake anyone. I believe the real snake, Jimmy, inflated Games ego.

I'm from the West and I was never the biggest 50 fan, but cut the bullshit. I'm not saying 50 wrote whole songs, but Game was able to work with the biggest hitmaker at the time and probably the greatest hook creator ever and came away with 3 or 4 strong ass singles. There's no way he would have had the same trajectory without that assist. He would have been a respected westcoast artist, but that's about it. He had the star quality, but he's not duplicating shit without that Aftermath push. He would have been Crooked I, someone who didn't truly get his respect until Slaughterhouse/Shady

Agreed!!! That Crooked I comment was spot on. I always thought he was a phenomenal lyricist but unfortunately he didn’t really have a big machine behind him. The Way Game did. 50 Cent Was an absolute beast when it came to those hooks. You take away that and game would’ve been a highly respected West Coast lyricist, but definitely not the superstar that he became.

If Dre didn’t agree to let 50 work with him, he would have just got dropped from the label as planned and he would not have had a rap career. The Game could not make a hit record to save his life before 50 helped him with us craft and gave him hit records. His career would not have had the same trajectory without 50 Cent. Everyone on gunit got paid, more than any other crew. Like game sold 5 million, buck sold 2, banks sold 3, and yayo sold 1million and these are all debut albums. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Can’t say that’s the same for all the other crews at the time

Some people will never change. Its one thing to think you will still be successful without certain people; but its another thing to think he would have had the SAME success without 50 and Dre. Thats absolute madness. In his pursuit to be the 'top dog' he left tens and tens of millions on the table when he went against 50. Game saying that he would have gotten the same notoriety if he never was affiliated with G-Unit is his ego talking. That’s like 50 saying he would have gotten the same buzz without signing with Eminem. The difference is 50 always acknowledges what Em did for his career, especially at the beginning of the Shady/Aftermath partnership. Game needed that boost for marketing purposes if nothing else. He needs to be more realistic about the situation.

From day one, I did not feel like Game would remain in G-Unit very long because Fif and Game were like 2 Executive Chefs in the same kitchen. A kitchen needs or requires only (one) executive chef. Therefore, from jump street, I felt like being a part of G-Unit was a very smart temporary 'exposure' move that the Game decided to make. It was like Nas and Jay Z being members of the same group or Biggie and Tupac being members of the same group.

And it ruined what could have been potentially millions of more dollars, and maybe even a stronger career today, which he already has a great career up to now. Game was known around the country before Westside Story, How We Do, Or Hate It Or Love It hit the radio stations before that he was getting notoriety doing stuff with huge artists like Dipset, Kanye, Ludacris, And Boost Mobile so he was well anticipated country wide thanks to that and because people knew he was signed to Dr Dre, 50 Cent, Jimmy Iovine, And Jimmy Henchman before that Game had a good buzz in many cities in Cali doing stuff with JT The Bigga Figga, Big Fase 100, As well as Russell Simmons yeah.

Clearly he proved he could stand on his own W/O Dre production. his discography for the most part is impeccable. Wack wanna take credit like he wasn't already established when he became his manager and if Jimmy was free he still be his manager now. G Unit South and West wit Buck and Game was smart to tap into those regions. Game didn't wanna be nobody's lil nigga so ego was obviously involved too then the studio shooting. 50 tried G Unit West wit Spida Loc ... Lol 50 a star helped Game wit Hooks sure, Game always been better emcee though. West was on life support become Game dropped Documentary, he brought them back influenced the next gen K Dot, YG, Nip, Schoolboy, Soulo, Jay Rock etc. There was a time I wanted Game and G Unit to reunite around the 300 bars era but that no thanks now. I respect Game's honesty about not being a soldier but he should've declined Dre's offer of partnering with 50 Cent to launch his career. The fact is there wasn't alot of traction when it came to his solo career at the beginning and Dre asked for help from 50 and his wave to help propel Game. Game accepted the offer because he wanted to become famous and blow up. He should've better understood the details of that partnership and been more appreciative and patient. I'm sure 50 with his ego wasn't completely satisfied with taking a backseat to Eminem but he knew that it was the best option for his career longterm and he never flipped on him.

Right after that no one cared about 2006 Rotten Apple from Lloyd Banks, no one cared about 2007 Buck The World. 2007 Graduation from Kanye West beat the shit out of 2007 Curtis. Everyone from G-units next albums right after their initial weren't really all that special. And beef doesn't equate to more sales at this point for G-unit, because no one cared all that much about their sophomore albums, it was all focused on a pointless beef.
