I game for myself and no one else. The toxicity seems to come more so from AAA $70 games. Helldivers is good for a 39.99 game which is a lower price than most AA games. I think at the lower price gamers will look past certain flaws. For a week or so the Helldivers servers were so full I couldn’t get into the game. If people paid $70-$100 for Helldivers there would have been all types of complaints. It’s a solid AA release that Sony spent AAA dollars on. Smaller devs have been out shining the big AAA devs this entire gen.

The higher the lvl, the more crazier it gets. Plus compared most games today, your paying $40 instead of paying $70. Honestly when Watch Dogs came out I was 16, and the PS4 didn't have much to play. I too would have given it a 9 out of 10 the first time I beat it. Hell, I remember watching your review and thinking, I agree! Nowadays, especially with the 2nd game existing, I'd give it like a 6. Fun, but ultimately flawed. Not what was promised. The problem is multiplayer means live service in this era of video games and live srevice means long term support dedicating all resources of a studio on post launch support. they are actually making a lot of that right now...they just canceled a bunch of those live service games but there are still four or five project in development...also i don't think playstation players really want that much focus on live service games...another thing is when you have big multiplayer games like fortnite apex warzone on your platform the idea of exclusive multiplayer isn't really necessary
