Your gardens are spectacular! You are so hardworking and knowledgeable. I love learning and watching from your stories🌸I’m from USA, in the the beautiful 4 season state of New Hampshire and gardening is often quite challenging here but so rewarding and satisfying. You are an inspiration for me and yes, there’s no “tired” like a full day of “gardening tired” but I sleep like the rocks I’ve dug when I’ve put in a full day of gardening!

I also sowed some globe artichokes from seed this year ('Green Globe'), I planted them out a few days ago. Everything is coming through on my allotment; parsnips, 'Ne Plus Ultra' peas and onions and leeks planted out. Still a few gaps where winter squashes need to go. For tomatoes, I am growing 'Purple Ukraine', 'Ananas', 'Golden Sunrise' and 'The Amateur' which is an outdoor bush tomato. I have some melons 'Melba' and 'Collective Farm Woman. I have 11 peaches set and nicely spaced on the 'Early Rivers' fan trained tree in one greenhouse and a dozen on the other peach which I think is 'Redhaven'. Lots of cherries already set fruitlets. I just hope there are no late frosts that damage anything. I do enjoy your videos.

You have accomplished so much in one year, Tanya. The difference from when you moved in is just amazing. You and Josh have a lot to be proud of. Everything is coming along splendidly. The shed is incredible…..I remember how it was when you moved in. What a transformation! The floor really takes it up another notch. Perhaps you may want to hang a few before pictures in there…..from trash to treasure. While a brand new shed would look very nice, this one has a lot of character. Being painted my favorite color, I find it especially appealing. Kudos to both of you for a job well done!

I've a 12x3 raised bed in ready but I've a major slug problem they demolish everything. All the flower starts I planted are gone was told to use pellets but I'd rather something that won't hurt the birds ? any advice would be much appreciated. Happy growing everyone x

Just curious, since you put so much hard work into your garden and want to ensure everything thrives, are there any plants you avoid planting near each other because they would interfere with each other’s growth?
@Lovelygreens2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean allopathic plants? I don't consider that at all with planting but I do think about root run and canopy when planting out.
@arizonaaannie2 жыл бұрын
I was thinking more along the lines of plants that don’t grow well next to each other, for whatever reason. Forgive me, my knowledge is limited so maybe I’m not forming my question very well. I use an app to help with organizing my little garden and it shows onions and potatoes as bad neighbors, though does not say why. I was just wondering if you’ve experienced a situation of bad neighbors in your garden at some point. Anyway, I really enjoy your videos and appreciate the knowledge you share.

I’ve heard that magnets on water pipes makes the water softer.
@at1the1beginning2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't.
@Lovelygreens2 жыл бұрын
That's what the Plant Surge does! It's developed by a company that has been producing water-softening shower heads for some years and has some pretty convincing independent trials. You can read more about the product here: plantsurge.com/products/plantsurge-the-revolutionary-water-magnetiser?ref=lovelygreens
@at1the1beginning2 жыл бұрын
@@Lovelygreens Your link only provides biased 'proof' from the company itself with no links to the mentioned scientific papers. Just some pretty flowers and an excell file. No mention on how it was conducted under which circumstances. Water isn't magnetic and can't be made so (only by VERY strong magnetic fields that are only feasible with huge amounts of energy). The company says the magnet reduces the 'cluster size' of the water molecules. What the F is that!? o.O Water molecules form hydrogen bonds with each other because the molecule is polar. These break and reform billions of times a second. We also know that the lower the temperature of a substance, the higher its density (it contracts). Except for water! It expands. Because of the hydrogen bonds. When water reaches 0°C, the kinetic energy of the molecules is no longer strong enough to break the hydrogen bonds and are locked in place in a crystal lattice: ice. When the temperature rises again above 0°, the crystal collapses, causing the water molecules to 'slip closer' to each other. That's why water has the highest density at 4°C, above which the kinetic energy of the molecules is high enough to cause them to move faster and thus create more distance. So you see, if you were to believe that this might make plants take up more water, you should actually be watering with 4°C water. NOT use a magnet. And then I haven't even explained how water actually is drawn up the plant... Besides, said 'independent trials' were conducted by a horticulturalist, not someone with a scientific degree/doctorate. Said person also did this (and other!) trial while under contract of a company (another nursery). So ofcouse the results would be in favor of the paying client.
