It's incredible, how little folks know about this band. I mean from the beginning: Always, Her Last Flight, Leaves, Nighttime birds, Liberty Bell, Learn About It, Home...just to name few. Absolutely astounding band, with little appreciation.

The lady singing this, Anneke van Giersbergen is Dutch and was one of Floor Jansen's inspirations to go into metal as a female vocalist when Floor was young. In fact Anneke also helped out Floor with some concerts when Floor was pregnant of her second child last year but still wanted to promote her solo album. So they are still in touch. Anneke is called "The Grandmother of Dutch female metal" not for nothing! This song (Travel) was inspired on the person of Mozart. Anneke wrote it herself because she loves Mozart. It is not for everybody, but I like it. As for you, you're doing a great job, you are far less subdued than in the trio videos. Keep it up, or start your own channel! The people coming on stage were all previous members of the band.

Good job Lulu on your solo flight. Now, I like the Gathering but I love, love, love Anneke van Giersbergen, the singer, and if you want to get some of her varied solo work then check her out on KZbin from the Beste Zangers 2021 TV show where she does several videos with different songs of different genres. She's a beautiful lady with an amazing voice. She has performed with other groups and other musical projects, such as Arjen Anthony Lucassen's 'Ayreon' the Progressive Metal Opera. She's considered by many to be the godmother of Dutch Progressive Rock/Symphonic Metal and is a friend to many of the Dutch front women such as Floor Jansen and Sharon den Adel. The Gathering r such an underrated band from the Netherlands... a mix of the ethereal ambience of Pink Floyd and the heaviness of mellow Led Zeppelin... enhanced w/ amazing female vocals. Their iconic singer Anneke Van Giersbergen (seen here) has since left The Gathering for her own solo projects... The Gathering has carried on w/ female singer Silje Wergeland since 2009... Anneke van Giersbergen is the grandmother of the Dutch metal singers. She inspired them all. And even now, at age 51, she still rocks and looks more then gorgious today... The gathering gets you in a trance. It is mesmerizing. But her songs with Arjen Lucassen in "The gentle storm" are also fantastic. Try " the storm". More modern stuff like "hurricane" or " take me home" are fantastic as well. Her cooperation with Devin Townsend resulted in "grace".... The wall of sound... Anneke van Giersbergen, Floor Jansen, Simone Simons, Marcela Bovio, Dianne van Giersbergen, Sharon ten Adel.....need I say more....Those Dutch metal female singers rule ...... It must be the food.....

But her realm is not limited by water, for her siren call will indeed enchant its victims on most surfaces.😊 It might be dangerous for this young lady to go there alone. At the end the present singer and old singers and old bandmembers joined in. From left to right: Bart Smits first singer of the Gathering, Sylje Wergeland present singer , ANNEKE, Marike Groot singer about same period as Bart Smits, Marjolein Kooijman played Bass and Jelmer Wiersma Guitar.

@@KathyLuluandDonna A Must ! I went to my first Rock Concert when I was 14 years old. I got the ticket from my Mom as a Christmas present. The Concert was 2 days later, on December 27th. It was Aerosmith. They were touring their " Night in the Ruts " album. You Never forget your First Rock Concert. Ever !
