Very glad you left the heavy breathing parts in. Adds to the reality of being outside on a good hike. A lot of folks edit that part out as if they are in such good shape that they never have to breathe hard. Great hike.

Make a walking stick on the hike to keep as a souvenir! They are helpful even without an injury. And you can knock the crap out of anything with it.

You walk in some of the most awesome places man. I like my area, but I still think this place is alot cooler. I might be able to find some places at least similar to this if i get out there into the actual mountains though. Ill have to make a trek out there.

Walking sticks seem kind of a hindrance to me. I guess they can give you something to lean on when you Walking uphill 🤷♂️ I just don't like having to carry them around. I've used sticks I found outside to usem for that once in awhile but I wouldn't buy one. A spear though? I'd totally use that as a Walking stick. One of the M48 spear or whatever tf they're called. I think those are pretty sick.

That's some brutal heat, this Washingtonian ain't built for. Use to be a Wildland firefighter, in early 2000's, and that heat always kicked my azz! The worst was being on the Hayman fire in CO. It was hot, and fire camp was 9000ft, so everything else like hauling 1-1/2x 100ft hose lays, were all up from there.

Have used a light hiking staff as a kid in the scouts in the 1960s and as hiker after my military service, and it has a some advantages, but trekking poles-no bueno. Take care of that knee.

California. Gross. You could be anywhere in the country, and you chose to be there. The Wind River Range in Wyoming has virtually identical topography which is every bit as spectacular, minus having to soil your integrity by being anywhere near Cali.
