I think Blinding Hope and The Pale are the best tracks. Followed by Moment and Last Song. I think Daku should have been the best track but the chorus is awful. Barbarian is okay; if it were mixed better it'd be great. The rest are bad.

@@bipblingbip443 I actually think that this album is overall the best since Division/Beautiful Deformity, however, that doesn't mean much unfortunately. I do think the mixing is the most palatable since even before Division, it is less squashed, drums and especially snare feel a little leaner than on previous records, which goes well with their style. Less ear-fatiguing. However, much to critique in the songwriting and tone department, unfortunately 🙁 : 1. My main gripe: Ruki does the parallel vocals waaaay too often imo. It is the default since many years now and I am just tired of the sound feels, as you've said, uninspired. Plus, he uses his low range barely ever, which is a shame. He sounds good there. 2. Also vocals: The melodies are pretty unremarkable, at least for my ears. I have listened through the album over three times now, and I cannot remember shit. It wasn't always this way. When I compare this to the new Mucc single, who are still going strong creatively and where even after only two listens I had the melodies stuck in my brain. (I encourage you to check it out of you like the band at all, also the video is great! It's titled 'World/Goner") 3. The choices of tones: Apart from the synths, which have changed from album to album and are imo one of the band's strong points, the guitar sounds and general vibe is always the same. Barely ever have they had significanr change in tone colour (the drums in this album are the biggest change I noticed in years) or any majorly different arrangement. I mean, they seem to have found their niche and are doing well for themselves, so I guess there's many people out there who love it. But the band proved in the past that they are able to write very colourful material. I am referring not only to the NIL-DIM era, but also the couple of singles that came right between Dim and Toxic, which was my favourite time in their career. The singles and b- amd c-sides were all very strong tracks, full of both energy and melody. Now only their apecific energy is left, which, granted, Gazette still do better than anybody imo. Sorry, this got way too long. Anyway, good day to all of you!
