Me and my chaddad did as well co-op badassery! GoW1 to Gow3 + Judgement. Yesyes the gameplay was looser and not as TIGHT but the characters and story archs were great and made solid foundation for understanding them. Im enjoying GoW Tactics now to spice it up with different gameplay style🤘

Me and my dad we played GoW 1 - GoW 3 co-op at the couch. Badass bondery and alot of joyful grub slaugher 😁 And yes GoW Judgement is GREAT! GREAT characters and story arch! It just had a bit too much arcadey gameplay, a bit looser than the trilogy

I actually played the games from 1 to 4 the year before they announced E-Day. And E-Day's announcement was enough to get me to buy the PC and Console versions of Gears 1's Ultimate Edition and replay it in that form (and start a playthrough of Judgment beforehand, which I didn't like on the whole, but do appreciate parts of). TBH, although Gears 5 is the only entry I refuse to play, I think The Coalition have a shitton of potential in continuing the series. Gears of War 4's plot (which saw JD Fenix and his friends try to save their relatives from the new-and-improved Swarm) was a downgrade from its two direct predecessors, but its level design, visuals, new weapons and gameplay more than made up for it, so with E-Day and what we know about it, we'll get both strong gameplay AND a story to back it up. Just stepping into Marcus' shoes again in the longest day of his life is an instant sell.

Man those were truly the GOLDEN DAYS. I vividly remember going to year round school and tracking out, but none of my non school friends were on my track so I'd have a month long break with nothing to do but play the holy trinity: Halo/Gears/CoD. Games were so much more social back then too. I remember growing a group of friends for each game and on any given night I could say "hmm I feel like playing Gears, let's see if the Gears friends are online," or, "oh the Halo crew is one, lemme join em!" Those were the days. Before battle passes, loot boxes and micro transactions. It was all just about having fun with your friends online. Many fond memories indeed

My dad first introduced me to gears of war 1 when I was 4 (when it first came out) I remember we waited outside of GameStop forever to get it he would play as dom cuz he knew I really liked Marcus (just from the trailers lol). But god dammit I’m gonna continue this tradition with my son one day, we may not have GameStop by then but I’ll make it work

Just started gears of war 3, I’m not new to gears but first time I’ve played through the old games fully by myself, always used to play co op with a friend, absolutely hooked now, looking forward to reading the books too, I’m not sure id want them to waste so many years making a prequel trilogy though, i think maybe one more prequel to bridge the gap between e day and gears of war 1 would be just fine and then return to either a post gears of war 3 game or a present day with gears of war 6 and Marcus back as the lead character.

I had to pull up the old photo of me Christmas day 2006 with Gears 1 in hand to prove to my girlfriend how much this series means to me. I have been playing it my entire life, even entering local Microsoft store tournaments in Gears 4. I can't put to words how excited I am for the series getting this new breath of life.

There are two things that I REALLY want in this game. Firstly, some scary Beserker encounters like in Gears 1. Secondly, a chapter or two that takes place at night, and we have to avoid the Kryll by remaining in the light. Of course, I would love to see more characters and enemies from the 360 games return, but those two are what I'd love most

Gears of War was my jam back in the day man! I still play Gears 1 every now and then. I think Gears 2 was my absolute favorite tho. The story was great, and multiplayer was amazing. I wasn’t aware people are still playing Gears 2. May have to jump back in here this weekend. Very excited for E-Day!

Gears and Halo have always been my two favorite franchises. Played the games, hundred percenting all the achievements, bought action figures, prop weapons. The kids and I played through the Gears campaigns slowly and surely and my friends come over to play Gears 5 Horde. I couldn’t be happier. Well, maybe if they had shadow dropped the Marcus Fenix collection on June 9 or something. 😂

After seeing the announcement of E-day i pretty much jumped back into the classic trilogy. Honestly if they announced a gears of war marcus Fenix collection (and hopefully they learned the mistakes from halo mcc when that launched) I'm sure people would be happy too. Which my guess is they'll either announce it later down the line or release it after E-day (because i rather they take their time with it, learn from halo mcc and the battlefront classic collection.)

Dude it gave me chills. Gears of War is one of the games I grew up on, and it would be so awesome if it’s successful to go back to the roots of Gears of war. Just so much fun, the music is honestly pretty iconic and seeing Dom again would be cool. One of the few games me and my dad would always play through together and always enjoy. Take me back to the 2000s coalition, take me back.

From what I remember, the 1st game takes place 15 years after e-day. So it would make sense that they're both extremely young and inexperienced during this time. I don't remember 100% if it was 15 years or not though

I've thought for a few years now that GoW might be the best franchise in gaming. Considering how old the series is, the unique yet still fun experience it offers (including unique art style and weapon sandbox), has never released a stinker in the line up (unlike Halo 5, or Syndicate in Assassin's Creed), and importantly each game has stayed true to the franchises roots (hasn't reinvented the AR in Halo a million times, or changed itself entirely like Assassin's Creed). GTA could be another contender for best gaming franchise too.

Gears of War E-Day's announcement actually made me well up when I heard "Mad World". I love this series just as much as I do Halo so to see it get the respect it deserves makes me very happy. Wish 343 can get it together as The Coalition has but at least one franchise I love is back on it's feet. Cannot wait for E-Day!

I'm just happy the Kryll is/are coming back. Idk why but they were the thing that I found the most interesting about Gears 1 when I played it at a friend's house. Definitely a big portion of why I bought Gears 2 when it came out, which was the game that cemented me as a fan of the franchise.
