Anyone who plays the guitar no matter what genre blues rock jazz ext. Will eventually get around to Django. he,s just to good to be ignored he will still be jawdroppin guitarists well into the future when all of today's guitar gods are just a footnote in history

The banjoist in that clip with Tommy Christian is Mart Britt, himself also a bandleader.

Well KZbin has not blocked it jet. I found the whole dvd/movie years ago with very bad comments. Who put it together was never mentioned and now its nowhere to be found unless copied from my upload.. I cut it up because at that time one could not upload material longer then 10 m. On my homepage there is another documentary - blocked by youtube and other - but running over my server. The documentary-maker is mentioned. He was very upset when the money-giver retricted the showing.

Very interesting I first heard of him from Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath as his story goes he chopped off the ends of his fretting fingers when he was very young and a person told him about Reinhard and it motivated him to reteach himself to play with missing fingertips. And a huge career he had inventing a style of music still played today.

+Joe Dov So, Tony Lommi cut his fingers in order to play like Django Reinhardt? Is that what you are saying? Django Reinhardt did not cut his fingers.

@@bibi1944 Tony Iommi lost the tips of his fretting hand in an accident I believe.

1:24 Django never had a ‘Baptiste’ in his name. His father Jean Eugene Weiss went by Jean-Baptiste Reinhardt, with the Reinhardt part from his wife, Django’s mother in order to avoid French military conscription.
