hi there! do you know how to disable a device that has an intermittent fault? got a Gent vigilon with a fault on device 18 on loop 1, i have tried diableing it but it keeps seeting off the alarms - i have stopped card 1 and 2 in engineering and that appears to have stopped the fault and alarms sounding while i work out whats going on.... any pointers?

to completely disable it, the only thing i can suggest is removing it. If its a sensor just unclip it from the base while you await a replacement. If its a sounder, MCP or module then youll need to take it off but put the in and out wires in connectors as to keep continuity to the loop flowing. Stopping the cards will have disabled the entire system. If its a real system then you need to start them up again asap. If you cant find the physical location of the device, go to the panel menu and do the following: Test/Eng > Loop > Find Dev > Find device on loop 1 > Start from device 18 > Enter The device LED will be flashing, and the sounder / strobe if present will be operating. Alternitively you could try to reallocate the loop. This will effectively make the panel forget the whole loop and learn all the devices again. Could iron out bugs. To do this its: Test/Eng > Loop > Allocate > Allocate loop 1 hope that helps

Stopping the loop means nothing is going to work on them loops (Sounders, detectors, I/F units) go to menu, control, disable, device, then when prompted enter the loop and address number then enter.

You need to reallocate the loops to get them running again, Fingers crossed nothing has changed on the loop eg removed detector and it will say something like allocated 50 devices, starting loop, loop recovered. If something has changed on the loop the it will say something like loop recovery failed then your fucked.
