WOW! This is so much better of an arrangement over the US Help album. I didn’t realize Richard Lester butted heads with George Martin thus why George didn’t do the arrangement, hence why he released this album. I love what George did with the United Artist A Hard Day’s Night release. For whatever reason I never knew Ken Throne did the arrangements for the Help soundtrack, but deep down I never liked the instrumentals. Now I know why. WOW! Always learning something new.

As a kid in the 1960's one of the many gifts The Beatles gave us was their inclusion of classical instrumentation in their 'pop & rock' compositions at a time when the exploitative marketing of 'the generation gap' caused an eclipse of orchestral music in general. Ken Thorne's AWESOME orchestral soundtrack for the film Help! (some songs included on the US Help! album), along with George Martin's orchestrations of Beatle songs and Martin's covers of them (especially his soundtracks to A Hard Day's Night! and Yellow Submarine), kind of foreshadowed and made possible stuff like The Moody Blues' Tuesday Afternoon Suite. The Beatles kept classical orchestral music IN pop music when it was no longer 'cool' to play any instrument but electric guitar, us kids in band classes appreciated it!

The version of Harrison's I need You is amazing. I wish the original had used that arrangement.

(This is Tom, not Sandra.) I'm glad to see that "Tell Me What You See" is on this instrumental LP of George Martin's great work!!!! It's one of my favorite tunes by the Beatles. A much over-looked tune, l might also say. I love these orchestral adaptations of his work and of the Beatles tunes, as well. Such beautiful music....all of them!!!!

And how could this be a "Columbia" recording? Does anybody at Abbey Road know about this?
