Those metal bars with loops on the ends are Horses mouth bits, the German army still used Horses for field kitchens and many other uses even in WW2

In our area the germans nearly confiscated also all the horses that were still alive to pull the guns and Flaks and to clear the fighting areas and to save the wounded and also fallen soldiers, and at least the horses were used for food. Was a hard time for the handfull old farmers here because they were no horses left at the end of war.

20:21 these are sowjet 12,7x108mm rounds. Very similar to the US .50 BMG, as the diameter of the tip is also 12,7mm. Those are very easy to be determined on the bullet as the .50 BMG nearly always have a copper alloy jacket and the sowjet ones a steel jacket (rust!)

20:39 one time me and my friend found a .50 caliber bullet for the American sniper rifle in a box inside his barn and I once found a machine gun belt with unfired false bullets but it was still cool to see that something like that had stayed protected in the soil here in America and not rotted away for how long it had been there

The US sent a LOT of arms to the Russians during WWII. Not terribly surprising to see BAR and M2 rounds where they were at. Cool to find these things, and important to remember the history. The Germans were also good at capturing and using equipment from other armies they overtook or captured. You are finding VERY cool stuff!

The US also sent a lot of arms to the Chinese during WW2 too

Lend-Lease program... ? So... only a german-russian "affair"...?
@krautyvonlederhosen11 ай бұрын
@@historyguard-ww2 we certainly could have picked a better ally to ship arms to. It was called Lend Lease, but Russia never paid anything back. Not to mention the thousands of lives wasted on the torpedoed ships to Archangel and Murmansk bringing this critical materiel. Remember, at the start of WWII, Russia was allied with Germany. Could have and should have concentrated on Western Europe and allowed Germany and Russia to grind each other to dust. in the east.

Many years ago digging in northeast Pennsylvania -U.S. I found two German coins in a little wooden box about 6 inches in the ground one was dated 1939 gold tone color with the swastika on it. The other was a token octagon in shape silver tone when translated in English it said good for 1 liter of Beer!
