Screw the haters, i love this movie. I tend to really enjoy movies based on true stories. Titanic, The Ghost and the Darkness, 127 Hours, and so on. The important factor is, they're not supposed to accurately portray every single piece of history that was true. That's what makes them better. You get to add a little bit of fantasy or imagination just as long as the movie is still pertaining to the original true story
@aliyuyahaya44312 жыл бұрын
I won't say screw them haters, but I would very much want to sentence them to 10 years watching nothing but (what's the absolute worst movie ever made?) 24/7! Then they'll understand what a great movie The Ghost and the Darkness really is.

It's crazy how people will find any tiny little problem and deem a movie trash because of it. "The Tsavo lions don't have manes." True, but most moviegoers didn't know this story before seeing the movie. It would have been confusing to them, thinking they were female lions. "Lions don't hunt this way." Well, the Tsavo lions did. And they were good at it. Even the cage contraption scene was accurate. "Why would they move the hospital?" They had to. The lions were raiding the hospital nightly, so they moved it a mile away on the other side of the camp. And the lions found that one too. "He used a dead donkey, not a baboon." Fair point, but in the end, what does that change in the story? Nothing. The only thing that's really different from the true story is Michael Douglas's character. Patterson killed both the lions himself, and did not call for outside help. Also, the scene where he kills the second lion is a bit dramaticized, but the true story is equally as horrifying...the lion charged him, he shot and hit it...the lion fell, but then got back up and kept charging. Patterson shot it multiple times and it finally dropped mid-charge only 15 feet from him. But this movie is so good, it DOESN'T MATTER that the manner in which the lion is killed is different. Just watch the movie and enjoy it!!!!!!

I agree 100%. I saw the Lions when I was in Chicago years and years ago. The field museum is amazing.
@oswaldjacobs39355 жыл бұрын
They probably didn’t use nameless lions because of safety reasons. The two lions in this film are real, and they used them because they are less aggressive than the Tsavo lions. Why not female lions? Probably they can’t find one or they’re not big enough.

A great movie. An epic teaming of historically Oscar nominated superpowers, despite flaws, both behind, and in front of the camera. From sound, to cinematography, to screenwriting, and more.... The Jaws of lion movies... is based on one of the creepiest stories in natural history, ever told. The Ghost, and the Darkness.
