The GHOST of THE KNOTT GIRL | Mount St. Mary's University, MARYLAND

Hey guys! Happy Hump Day!
This creepy PA story is close to home for two reasons. 1) It was submitted by my cousin Mary Kate, who I absolutely adore. Love you, MK! 2) Even though this story technically isn't based in PA, it happened about 15 minutes from Gettysburg, so we're calling this fair game.
That said, if you know anything about Mount St. Mary's University in Maryland, you might already know that it's riddled with old-school spirits that date all the way back to the 1800s. Pretty spooky. What's even spookier is the encounter my cousin is convinced she had with the spirit of a young girl in her dorm building... a somewhat-awkward interaction at that but one that absolutely sent chills up and down her spine. I'll stop the sharing here, but this is a spiritual encounter that absolutely blew my mind with historic references to back it up!!! Enjoy as we do a mini deep dive into the hauntings of Mount St. Mary's University.

My alma mater! Love the ghost stories at the Mount. My favorite is that our founder’s ghost haunts Echo Field and the seminary, but he’s a kind benevolent ghost. He appears to counsel troubled people who need help. (Just fyi: it’s spelled Knott, and Simon Bruté is pronounced “broo-tay”)

I'm from State College and I can officially say PA is a state that's both underrated, but also slightly overrated at the same time. We have awesome areas like Wellsboro and Gettysburg, but we also got some of the most toxic people, especially in the college towns

Hi! I actually run an Instagram account for the school that catalogues the many ghost stories from the campus! Since a lot of these stories are just passed down through oral tradition, many of them get lost, so I've never actually heard of the Knott Girl!
