When I was around 12 yrs old in the sixty's,I was walking alongside the river Thames with my family.Think it was just beyond Tower Bridge.Standing by the wall looking out to the river, I saw a plump lady,completely dressed in white.Hat,coat shoes everything,even her suitcase was white & her face stone white,but she was smiling.I walked past,thinking bit odd not thinking could be a ghost at that age. There were no street performers or living statues in those days.We walked on when I turned back she was gone . . . . Anyone else experienced this lady of the Thames please? 😱

So interesting to hear HMS Hood mentioned. My father was stationed on HMS Hood and had his orders changed just four hours before its last voyage. I think he suffered from survivor guilt as many friends and comrades lost their lives. We scattered his ashes in the North Sea as a memorial and that was one of his last wishes.

Claire, I really appreciate your comment here and thank you so much for sharing your personal story about your father. I can’t imagine the trauma the loss of so many lives must have brought your father. I am so pleased you were able to honour his past wishes and thank you again for sharing 👻🙋‍♀️

The ghost stories are great, but what I find fascinating are the stories behind the hauntings. Hearing the lore and stories of the actual people really brings these tales to life. Excellent work as usual.

I always enjoy your videos, & very interested in ghostly stories from Wars, like your telling of John G P Brownrigg. My mother grew up in the north of England during WW2, & she told me many strange stories. One in particular is of a neighbour who's 3 sons & husband all went off to war. One day 1 of her sons came home, she was so overjoyed & gave him a hug, she ran him a bath & told him she'd prepare his supper. She quickly ran to her neighbours to tell them of her joy at the return of 1 of her sons. Some came to her home to meet him & ask if he had any news of their loved one's, but he was nowhere to be found. The following day some Military personnel knocked on her door, they told her the sad news that her son had died in a battle in Belgium.

@ghostcasebook1266

Hello! A chocolate biscuit here in the UK is a baked biscuit (not the same a chewy cookie or an Oreo type biscuit) and then there’s chocolate usually on one side. The most common ones (I think) are McVities and I think it’s fair to say there’s fierce brand loyalty in the UK to such products! 👻🙋‍♀️🙏 This is quite comprehensive: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McVitie%27s

Good point and thank you. I wondered about the writing too as I am left handed and I found (when I was young) I effectively had two types of handwriting; one leant back (as you’ve suggested) and the other went forward with me hooking my left wrist right around. It was always awkward for my family to watch me write like that. I know, the postcard from Mary (1906 - I forgot to add) was great. I wonder if Mary and Madge did become good girls in the end! 👻🤔

Oh, this visit was just the best. I am fascinated with Sarah, who was thrown over by her husband, who somehow thought he would just marry another woman at the local church without a problem! No matter how I loved a man, I certainly wouldn't have done away with myself for him. She seems to have been loved by the people around her. Perhaps there is more to the story than we can ever know. There must be more than one entity there. Thank you for this wonderful video and all the remarkably appropriate images.

Thank you so much and I agree; Sarah’s story is fascinating. What an awful husband she had! I have actually come across several stories of bigamy as I have researched various ghost stories, and it is completely baffling, especially as in many cases, they remarry in churches they originally tied the knot in! Her grave stone is amazing, describing her as a martyr. 👻🙋‍♀️

@@ghostcasebook1266 I very much enjoy your well researched, beautifully edited and wonderfully narrated presentations. I think you've asked what viewers think of the codas: The postcards and other items from your annals are of great interest to me. I myself collect vintage postcards, although most of them are unused: the ones that have been written on and sent are intriguing. I also collect vintage souvenirs-sometimes things unearthed in a bargain bin in a gift shop (so old, but not pre-owned), sometimes items from charity shops, and the kitschier the better. Most of your memorabilia is in better taste. (I've put this hobby on hold for the time being as I'm in the process of downsizing, although not parting with the aforementioned cards and tchotchkes.) Do you believe that items can be haunted and-if so-do you have any in your collection? 👻 I sometimes wonder what I've brought into my home upon rescuing furniture and mirrors from the streets of NYC, but I only take things in fine condition that have good vibes, and as far as I can tell nothing has any attachments. Or if they do, they don't affect me in a noticeable manner. I'm looking forward to your next video! ❤

Hi Liz, yes indeed. I think the next step might actually be Abingdon in Oxfordshire through to Windsor because there’s a whole array of interesting locations in that area alone. Hampton Court will be a video on its own (maybe with some local ghosts at Richmond) and then there will be a video on Central London and another into the Thames estuary. So many stories! 👻🙋‍♀️

I am disabled and can't drive so have lots of time, I love watching ghost documentary s as I lived in a very old haunted mansion but never saw a ghost, family and people who used to come to the converted building into a private club downstairs with lots of rooms upstairs have seen ghosts. I have with friends seen poltergeist activities including sprung doors open fully and heard footsteps coming up the creaking stairs with my dad and friends. Lights go on and off, taps turn on fully, voices and the dog used growl and followed many times an invisible thing so nothing frightened me and about 3 weeks ago while watching a ghost documentary my phone lifted and moved downward and towards me and proped it's self at the side of my bed were I put it when going to sleep, it moved about 12 to 14 inches towards me and downward about 20 or so inches downward at a slope. I was like wow, fantastic and buzzing at what I just saw. My wife and parents think it was my passed mischief cousin. Love all your investigations and thank you.

Miss Tomlin lived only a stone's throw from where I live now - although I'm London born. High Bradfield is a lovely, rural area on the outskirts of Sheffield. Thames side is beautiful. There are some lovely walks along the river. The river's course through London must afford enough stores for a whole series......imagine the area around the Tower!! Shudder. Wonderful stories.

I LOVED Oxford. Loved the shops. I found the Thames to be dirty and I was surprised by it's dirty look, but I am from an area in the Pacific Northwest of the US with absolutely crystal clear lakes and rivers. Lucky I guess. I ADORE Kate Bush! My step brother was lived in a small town near Oxford called Horton cum Studley in an 14th century pig farm. HUGE door keys about 1 foot long front door key and a slightly smaller back door key. lol He was stationed at Heyford Airbase in Oxfordshire. His step daughter (My step, step niece) met the Queen when she came for a visit to meet children at the toddler care facility, for the silver jubilee, she was too young to remember but still has the commemorative coin they were all given. I oved England when I was there for a month. Didn't get to see Scotland which I always wanted to do, but my friend was too sick to travel and didn't like Scotland. lol

You have astonishingly beautiful scenery and landscapes in the Pacific Northwest. One of my favourite places. You are right about the UK’s waterways being dirty and right now here, they are dirtier than ever because our ridiculous government allowed dumping of sewerage into rivers and seas recently. Lots of people are outraged by this. 👻🙋‍♀️
