As a biological female, I couldn't even get my " tubes tied" after going to the gynecologist FOR YEARS & telling them, " YES, I'm sure I do NOT want my own biological children EVER". Reproductive & other concerning genetic medical conditions are my main reasons. I would NEVER want an innocent life to suffer, nor put my own @ risk. I went in for a visit @ around age 27, really exasperated with the reoccurring side effects from ALL the different birth control methods that I've had to endure over the years ( i.e. mental health / hormonal imbalance, weight gain/loss, an I.U.D. causing issues that resulted in SURGICAL REMOVAL...I could go on...) your ovaries provide horomones not your uterus. You can get your uterus removed and not need artifical horomones. Complete hysterectomies are done usually when cancer is present or at risk so the entire reproductive track is removed..doctors just dont like to remove unteruses for women who are suffering for some reason even tho they have no problem sterilizing someone who claims to be trans. Its actually advized to keep your ovaries if your hysterectomy is not cancer related as removal of ovaries increases risk factors for other diseases like osteroperosis and early onset menopause is not healthy for young women(ovary removal throws you into menopause for obvious reasons) artifical horomones will never beat natrual ones so please if you find a doctor willing to do a hysterectomy, research on retaining ovaries and talk to them about possibly keeping them.

That right there should automatically disqualify her entire argument. One of the most _basic_ understandings in the medical community is that any part of the human body is not allowed to be removed unless there is a legitimate concern of it causing harm. The fact that a doctor is seemingly unaware of the fact that, no, we in fact _do not_ remove “useless” organs unless they are actively causing harm or demonstrate a high likelihood of doing so in the future is VERY concerning in general. Speaking of which, fun fact: the appendix is now believed to aid in the digestive process. Not so useless after all, eh?

Kids imitate, it is our nature as people at all, in such a way you can't really give them absolute freedom, it is just impossible... and maybe you should not in the first places. You can only limit the level of extremism you teach them. Personally the things i think all good parents should teach their kids is discipline the second being skepticism (overall thinking, doubting, questioning, to analyse and use logic) instead of let them do whatever they want to do depending on how they feel at the moment. You also can't just punish them out of nowhere... Explain things to them, they are curious by nature and would ask many questions... will learn a lot... Things happened and at the end of the day I and my sister grew up very different in our first years. I have been around the intelligent, patient, caring people that were my father and his parents who would answer my questions, give me attention, play with me, talk a lot and including me in the conversations. My sister was more with my mother who just was not a person giving attention or anything, just a person who orders you as if you are a dog... with sweets for prices and punishments. She grew more independent but have not said anything different than mom, dad, gran etc. until she was 4 or 5... I grew more dependent, craving attention but talking clearly at the age of 2

I remember being excluded of things because I was a girl, I couldn’t participate in traditionally male things that I was interested in, I remember in Primary school I was the only girl on the cricket team and the boys on the team excluded me and were visibly disappointed because a girl was on the team. And I didn’t understand how much all that affected me because I was conditioned into thinking it was okay to be treated like that. I wanted to transition so badly when I was 14-15, and I remember feeling like I needed to in order to be respected and to have my opinion valued, at this point I was also struggling with suicidal thoughts, I think my mind used being trans as a coping mechanism almost. I remember talking to my friends when I came out as trans and none of them challenged me, especially my best friend and she pretty well knew the circumstances I grew up in. One day I met a guy when I was 15 (my now boyfriend of 6 years) and the first time I ever came around to his place I saw how well his family treated each other with respect and it all dawned on me. My gender dysphoria went away after a few years of being with him and I can say that I definitely would’ve regretted transitioning if I did. I got my first tattoo when I was just 15 years old... It wasn't legal but I did it anyway, it's not that they can take it off after the fact so when it's done it's for life... However I don't have any regrets doing it because I've thought it through what I wanted and the tattoos that I have are there for a reason for me to reflect on that moment to remember where I came from and what I've accomplished, it's a personal sign so to speak. Also my tattoos are of animals only because when you get to know people you start to love animals, so you can see that it goes pretty deep and has a spiritual side and that's why I won't regret my tattoos ever in my life. It's something I'm actually proud of.

I went through early puberty and I remember feeling confused and hating my breasts in particular because they were a very visible sign that my body was changing. I was still a child and I didn't want to be a grown up yet. A few years passed and I grew into my new body and the discomfort I felt, passed. I can imagine if I were growing up today and had all these people whispering in my ear telling me I was really a boy and I had chest dysphoria, how easily I may have been influenced into transitioning. I was also quite the tomboy. Thank God these people weren't around when I was growing up.

This was me as well. I dressed and acted like a boy at 12-13 as well because I was so uncomfortable with my changes. I also grew up with an older brother and all my older cousins were males(I was the first girl born then all cousins after me were girls) so I was always a tomboy and perfered to play with the boys and even dress like them vs traditional grily stuff. But at the end of the day Im a woman now, and I love being a woman. It wasnt until 14 that I started to feel comfortable in my maturing female body but by 16-17 I was fully comfortable as a young woman. Im 28 now, lucky I grew up when I did as I wasnt pushed to change my gender. My family thought Id be gay but even that wasnt the case I just wasnt interested in anyone romantically as a kid because I was a KID. 14 hit me like a truck thats for sure, thats when I began to have feelings for boys, started feeling more like a girl and being ok with growing up. Some of us just took longer for our brains to catch up with our bodies is all.

Likely not even the parents entirely on-board; friends with a family that have had to deal with this situation, it's not easy. The kid truly believes they are a boy, it's a mental issue and it gets to be extreme enough that it affects their life in negative ways unless they do "appear" like a boy. The parent's as far as I can tell are your regular ole 9-5 office workers, they don't appear to be abusive to the kid and don't even understand why their kid is the way they are; there was some initial blame on media consumption, internet, school bullying, etc but the kid's been in and out of therapy several times. They effectively just came to a disappointing compromise, ride out their years until the kid turns 18 and then they'll support whatever surgery their kid wants to take from there; minor's can't self-elect for these surgeries AFAIK and require a parents approval. What do you do otherwise? Can't beat the child, that's been long proven to not work. You can tell them to dress like a girl and reinforce it's bad to dress like a boy but if you have been around teenagers you know how going against their core beliefs goes.

I come from a family of doctors, with a father who was a surgeon (he has since retired) with several accolades and an illustrious career. He would tell you that surgery should always be the last option to ANY treatment. He would also report the one doctor to her state medical board who justified top surgery for minors with “…don’t we often recommend the removal of non-functional organs” such as “the appendix”? Removal is only EVER recommended when that organ poses complications to the health of a patient. Otherwise it is a way to make the surgeon more money. I am prime example of this, as I now have life-long complications from the removal of my gallbladder (which ceased to function according to one test, but posed no real problems for me). Several doctors said this surgery never should have happened. Whatever happened to “do no harm”?

Im a highschool teacher in Australia and seen first hand the consequences of the gender movement. I work with at risk youth who are already vulnerable. Couple this with regular internet and access to information from individuals, websites and chat servers which results in me having to comply with their new set of pronouns and identities. Which is now school policy that I have to do this. Now I'm not one to purposely go against this as I have no intention of hurting the student and also being considered a 'transphobe' and losing my job is not something I am prepared to do. But the saddest part of it all, is that these kids already have mental health problems. But now these issues are seen as being trans rather than actually acknowledging or dealing with childhood trauma. For example a recent student who for two years was a proud female and diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, depression went to a psychologist who actually identified borderline personality disorder and nassiscistic traits that if not properly dealt with could become quite severe. The psychologist believe the student was incorrectly diagnosed and recommended further sessions with him to work on BPD. This made alot of sense to the education team working with the student. The student however was not happy with this and argued that they preferred anxiety, depression and PTSD. This caused a significant explosion to the 17yr olds mental health and over the summer decided over night they were now a male. This was a literal laying in bed thought they had and since that moment we now had to change their pronouns, change their name and even have a day dedicated to their 'coming out' as trans. I tried to argue that there needed to be a professional involvement to help guide the student before any of this was to occur. But unfortunately due to policy we had to just accept this students new identity which wasn't an easy task. And pretend like they were all fine now that they had finally discovered who they really were. The more I worked with this student the more I saw the narcissistic personality and BPD. This is what should have been explored but instead the trans identity was the 'solution'. This is just one example out of several in the last few years. Mostly females who now want to identify as non binary or male.

as a gay man i find this terrifying. As a young boy I was highly effeminate, I wore my sister's dresses and played with her dolls. There were many women that I admired and wanted to be like. I have no doubt in my mind if I grew up today I would be pushed down the transgender pipeline and not only be convinced to transition, but I would openly celebrate and advocate it for myself. But as I grew older, I became much more comfortable in my skin and the idea of having my body cut up as a child and be a "woman" today makes me physically ill. Edit: Wow, I can't believe there are some people in the comments trying to defend surgery on trans kids. Let me clarify. I have no problem with transgender kids. If your son wants to wear a dress and be called by a girls name, fine. But I personally don't think any medical intrusion via hormone blockers, hormone replacement, or surgical intervention should even be even considered until a MINIMUM age of 18 (25 being preferable for that's when the brain is fully developed). I say this acting as if I were a parent with my own kids. I don't care what these "gender specialists" have to say because I think it's a dodgy science. Young boys who were hyperactive in school were all put on ADHD medication a couple years back by their "doctors" - yet in hindsight we can say a lot of them didn't even have ADHD. They were just young boys with incredible amounts of physical energy. That's what this modern wave of transgender treatments for children reminds me of. I don't think every personal, behavioral, or emotional problem needs to be treated with medical intervention.

When I was 13-15 years old I was a tomboy, I had "chest dysphoria" as they call it, I was upset about the fact that I was being noticed/catcalled by men for the first time, my mother making snide comments, I was upset about how in the way they can be, how I had to wear an uncomfortable bra because nobody ever bothered to take me to be properly fitted for one (honestly if any of y'all have daughters, the difference it makes to be properly fitted, comfortable and not embarrassed by a family member is massive). I would have been transitioned if I grew up now and I am happy to be a woman. Society tried really hard to convince me I wasn't happy being a woman and that is really upsetting. Leave it to the left to latch onto the discomforts of growing up and dealing with these awkward things on your chest everyone seems interested in, and then telling teens that they should just chop them off.

@@JustAnzia If one lacks a Y Chromosome, ie. have an XX karyotype, she is a woman, regardless of any other biological factors. I understand and appreciate, as best as a man can, the fact that you must be profoundly affected by your situation, however. The overwhelming loss and disappointment a woman must live with when she is unable to conceive and birth a child must be enotionally crippling, as the drive to have young ones is fierce. Men, too experience the constant loss. However, we do not carry and birth these children, an experience entirely unique to the female mother. Please, do not let the social engineers further impact you by complicating your life with false constructs of human physiology and psyche referred to as "genders." There are but two karyotypes and genotypes responsible for the two phenotypical dimorphismisms or biological sexes. Unfortunately, we live in a corruptable existence, things go wrong, fail to develop to 100% perfection. This in no way detracts from the biological facts that a woman, one without a Y chromosome, regardless of any chromosomal, genetic or gene product issues or abnormalities, great or small, that may develop. Taking for example, ambiguous genitalia, a more serious and quite rare abnormality, arising from an in-utero development issue or chromosomal abnormality, in most cases, can be corrected to match the chromosomal/genetic make up, which physiologically defines the sex. That is to say, biological sex is not a construct of one's psyche, rather the person's psychological, mental and personality and essense is influenced by ones biological sex--the phenotypical, sexually dimorphic physiology. From this dimorphic physiology arises the hormones and genes or the genotyping that makes a male highly distinguishable from a female or. Visa versa. One can rebel collectively with large majorities of their generation all they wish, but biology shall always prevail. It is always best to be who one is honestly than to try and invent a persona, a sex, a so-called "gender" classification that one thinks society wishes them to be. Isn't life sufficiently complicated enough without complicating it infinately further? My opining has begun to become more epistolic on this subject and directed to the entire commentary public group. Please, if you are to take offense, may it please not be due to my inadvertently directing this to you singly.. Also, my aim is not to offend, but to counter a mass formed illogical acceptance of "gender and trans theory." By scientific either Biological or sociological, this gender and trans concept has not reached the theoretical or even hypothetical level. Nobody who is an expert proponent of these concepts have produced testable hypotheses, and hence no propective logical studies have been proposed, not to mention, achieved, published, reviwed, retestested. Instead a boatloac of anecdotal, stories, incorporating loose, weak conjectures and confirmed biases have been used as evidence. The social engineers then use the radical disruptive social justice warriors and community activists to intimidate and leguslate these concepts into what I reder to as false factual existence. The academic community is never going to challenge the social activist, who began to sue University Hospitals and Clinics who failed to use their, their, his, hers.. "preferred pronouns." Rather accept than fight the black clad activists and the extreme far left lawyers, most institutions and companies and corporations complied until this contrived, invented "gender and trans 'theory'" became the "reality." When UNCHALLENGED IDEAS of HUMAN CONDUCT remain unchallenged and become the NEW REALITY, we are a sheep to the slaughter. Addressing you singly once more, and by referring to your picture, you look like a perfectly fine, healthy young woman. As I am a gratefully married man to a wonderful and beautiful woman, understand, my comments on your appearance go no further. All the best

He went to a bunch of therapists, started on hormones, (which admittedly made his skin enviably gorgeous), began to develop breasts. I think that's what freaked him out. The light bulb came on and he asked, why am I doing this? It's not going to solve my problems. I was so happy that he caught it before going any further. I'm sorry, but there's no chance that is statistically possible. I raised this issue in a Twitter convo (I know, I should have known better) and the trans community jumped on me accusing me of lying. Eventually I shut it down by pointing out that not only was I not lying, but the very fact that they were all so certain I must be was confirmation that they also thought it impossible to be true! I was criticized primarily for asking questions about why the girls might be led to this. I wasn't supposed to ask questions I guess. Now imagine where we would be on civil rights if in the 60s black people could have 'transitioned' into white people and no one was allowed to talk about what might be going on that was leading all these black people to not want to be black anymore.

I am so glad you addressed this. I'm a detransitioner and while thankfully I never got surgery, I speak with many who have regretted surgery. It's heartbreaking to hear their stories. It's true body horror, trapped in a body you can't use the way you could have before, no longer able to enjoy it pre op. Many can't feel any sensations along their chest, many note there is still pain around their nipples. Vaginoplasty is a whole other beast. This is a major issue. It's a deadly trend that, imo, is worse than anorexia because it's so socially acceptable. I'm happy Texas has made a change but it's far from perfect. I'd rather the age be 25 or 30, rather than 18 because younger people are far more impressionable and inclined to follow the crowd more than adults do. If they urge so hard that these kids are suicidal, then provide them with actual healthcare and alternatives. There is no such thing as exclusively one method to cure any ailment. I have never once seen a situation where a gender therapist actually addressed the teen's trauma or mental issues. All they do is affirm. All trans people are human with their own set of problems. Being a male or female isn't the problem. Address these other problems. Not even the community gives a damn about other trans people's mental problems, let alone problems with surgery or their doubt in being trans. I've heard so many people speak of how unhelpful and harmful the community is because they refuse to examine that they might be wrong about being trans and they refuse to acknowledge that there's any other problem besides being somehow miraculously born in the wrong body, whatever that means.

Yes, its ridiculous. I suffered for nearly 40 years with horrific bleeding episodes and was not allowed to get a hysterectomy until I finally developed cancer.

My aunt (also in her 40s) had to go through hell and back before the doctors actually agreed to get her tubes tied. She had to go through so many loops and so much paper and so many different clinics before they finally agreed, and it's sad that drs will literally sterilize a child because they say they're trans, before they believe a 40 year old woman who's fought the issue for years.

I want to fast forward to the part where juries award these poor kids lots of money in damages, Attorney Generals investigate these ambulance-chasing type doctors, & medical boards take these doctors medical licenses.

Isn't it time to get rid of the drinking age? If children can choose to take drugs that alter their biology or opt for life-altering surgeries, they should be able to get drunk too. 🤷‍♂️

lol Good point. I say let kids drink at 16, start learning to drive at 18 and not vote till they're 26 (and have paid taxes for at least 2years).

And smoke. Let's just ride this slippery slope roller coaster to the Armageddon that "Progressives" want. It's like the FreedomToons video about Socialism; if you've not seen it, you should. It summarizes all of this stuff they want pretty keenly.

These people are sick. As a healthcare worker, I can't believe how healthcare has turned a blind eye to these horrific practices. The first rule of the Hippocratic oath is "to do no harm"

Odd how circumcision is child abuse, but trans surgery isn't to some of the same people?

States should make it illegal to refer to it as "top surgery" at all. It should be officially "Breast removal surgery".

If you want to be even more accurate, call it "mastectomy". It's what they do to cancer patients to save their lives, removing breast tissue. But performing full mastectomies in children doesn't sound as cool and lighthearted.

I'm sorry, if I have abnormally large tonsils and I have to have 3 THREE! doctors give their medical advise stating that tonsil removal would help me and allow me to breathe when I catch a common cold then no, children should not have the same clinic give their "rubber stamp" to move forward with a very invasive surgery. This is terrifying

The part that bothers me the most is the section that explains that they only need one parent’s consent if only one parent has been awarded legal custody… We have already seen cases where people with allegedly transgender children have been getting divorced so that their spouse can’t have a say in whether or not they transition the child medically…. so…

The TED talk was given at my university in Reno, NV.....this doesn't surprise me at all. I used to babysit for a lady who would purposely dress her son as a girl and make posts on FB about buying him an American girl doll. But she dressed her daughters as boys and refused to accept any doll toys given to her daughters by family and friends. It was absolutely perverse.
