I live in the middle of Canada and drove down the west coast from BC to San Diego one year. On that journey I happened upon the Redwood National Forest. Everyone should walk among these stunning giants. Put it on your bucket list. The majesty of these trees makes you feel so insignificant on this planet. It’s just awe inspiring. Thanks for sharing Hawk! It’s been a while since I’ve thought about that trip.

We did what we called the "tree tour" awhile back....flew in from the East coast, and drove from one forest to another. Saw the Redwoods and Sequoias, Mir forest, the Valley of the Kings, and more. Absolutely loved it.

Some of us have never seen trees so big or as old as those. Native Georgian here. Sherman burned all of ours long before me. Magnificent! Majestic! Thank you!
@KailuaKonaGirl19 күн бұрын
I’m also from Georgia and never imagined how big trees are supposed to be until I wound up in a career that had me traveling all over the world. Take a weekend and go see Joyce Kilmer and the Albright Grove, remaining old growth forest up in the Smokies. I promise you it will change how you see everything. And try to imagine how virtually every square mile of our continent was once covered in trees like this - like plain old tulip poplars as big around as a pickup truck. Go.

I bought some giant sequoia seeds a couple of years ago and I now have six young sequoia seedlings about a foot high. I have some friends that are land owners that I'm gonna give them to. We've already talked about planting one and how we will never live long enough to see them grow to maturity, or anywhere close to maturity, but they all agree with me that it is a good thing to do.🌲❤️
