I love the basic talent in this backfield, Nubin is the gem and he is a bookworm a student and potential snake (QB) charmer as a free safety,Im prayinhg the front four keeps the pressure on enemy qbs to allow these DBs to cover effectively.

Outside of Banks the way we built our CB room this offseason is beyond questionable. Bowen's scheme uses deep off-ball zone...aka all our project/tweener corners will be burnt toast whenever the pass-rush cant get home

Giants should be a big surprise team this season.

I actually like McCloud better. Then there is Runyon at RG, Elumanor at LG. I’m hoping it was just trying to get versatile during mini camp. Otherwise those moves just seem plain dumb.

Great content. I think the dbs will be good especially if the investments to the d line pan out. With the Brian Brurns signing, the Giants are counting on their dline to get more pressure without blitzing. Although they are young in the secondary, a good to great dline will "cover up"? some of the weaknesses of the secondary. This secondary can thrive with their athleticism, awareness?, and confidence can make them great really fast. It's always the line play on both sides of the ball. The Giants have hopefully made the right investments which I think that they have. The young ones just have to be solid anything else is gravy. Dexter Lawrence, Andrew Thomas, Bobby Okereke, to me, are top level. The spot next to Dexter has to be just solid. Andrew Thomas needs a running mate on the other side at right tackle. Evan Neal has to be just solid. Micah McFadden is nice. I like his game. He just needs to clean up a couple of things but he's good. I think Deonte Banks is that dude. He was good last year imo especially considering that he was a rookie. I saw the talent, awareness, athletic ability, the attention to detail, quick learning, etc. Having a good to great #1 cb is really good to have for a nfl team and I think the Giants have one. I like Cor'Dale Flott also. Jason Pinnock is a sleeper but solid. I think Dane Belton has what it takes but needs to take it. I like the draft pick safety Tyler Nubin and corner back Andru Philips.

Put Neal on the bench no move to guard the only move I would make is off the team

The gamble is largely preducated on our upgraded pass rush with Burns and kavon taking the next step. Pressure with the front 4 and not kitchen sink blitzes will help the secondary immensely. We will see less home runs with turnovers but i think we will see more fgs and punts from the opposition

100% correct. Winks D was exciting with all the take aways but much too easy to scheme against. Think NASCAR like 2007.

They'll get torched a few times, but They'll gain a lot of experience this year. Both you guys made great points. Banks being CB coild fail - but I really think he's gonna be great. Flott elevated to CB2 is risky for sure, but hopefully he'll be up to the task. McCloud or Hawkins could step up. Nubin and Philips have great potential but obviously unproven. Just amazing how young they are. Great job guys.

The secondary is going to to have to play zone. They’ll need to communicate and trust one another the front seven will have to be fast and disruptive..I think it will be ugly at times in the beginning of the season but once they settle in I think they’ll be pretty good. I love their draft picks. Andrew Phillips is a smart ball hawk. Tyler nubin is very smart. He can play anywhere in the secondary and he can tackle dry Phillips 82 tackles,10 pass breakups,3 til. Our secondary was horrible at tackling last year. So I believe we upgraded. Let’s hope we stay healthy

When you look at Joe Schoens picks he picked like 10 guys his first year and he should’ve packaged those picks for better quality players because it’s mostly shit. I’m tired of watching mediocre bullshit

Dru Phillips is strong but he doesn't tackle well. He has sticky coverage, but he gives up 67% catch rate. Hopefully he learns to tackle and cover better. Usually if a cb is really smart they have ints.

Taking a gamble on our young secondary in an almost pure passing league is pretty ballsy. 😂

Im not comparing but I can remember that secondary the 49ers had in their first Super Bowl season in 1981 led by veteran Dwight Hicks,Ronnie Lott and Carlton Williamson were rookies very raw but talented secondary, this secondarys potential reminds me of them

😂 we have nowhere near a Ronnie Lott or Dwight Hicks caliber in our secondary (I wish!!). I thought the 95 9ers with Neon Deion and Merton Hanks were better in that secondary. At least more pics and pts scored from back there, no?

I wouldn’t worry about flouts weight. He is still a young man. I bet he comes into training camp 5 to 10 pounds heavier. He gets in the weight room with the trained he’ll be fine. If he doesn’t he doesn’t deserve it. May the best CB win
@Thagomizer-U235
@Thagomizer-U235 3 ай бұрын
He knew he had to gain weight the last 2 years and he has only gained 5 lbs. I expect another 2 or 3 lbs by camp which puts him about 180. That should be OK for most wrs.

If you have to ask the question, you know the answer deep down. This goes for any team. If you haven’t seen or heard about the Secondary making it an impossible day for throwing the football(with any of the QBs), then you know it will be a trial by fire season and even that probably won’t make most of the players better(meaning: lots of Passes Defended & 5+ INTs(For the Ballhawk style players)). NYG will see more passes being thrown at them this season until a reason is given to stop, slow down, and run the ball more. With all the WRs on the schedule, you’ll find out what you have during the season. Finding a CB that is a Ballhawk is rare, which is why many teams just hope for very solid guys that don’t get burned multiple times a game.

Giants fan since 1977 here. This team has been a huge disappointment for 12 years running, and the meddling of John Mara has been one of the biggest reasons. Forgive me, but this team has proved NOTHING to real Giant's fans, and I can't hang my hat on a rookie D coordinator and rookies in the secondary. So to me, this team still has to prove it. I'm done "Hoping". Completely done.
