Just because I feel any action is wrong, such as adultery, murder, polygamy, homosexuality, doesn't mean I hate the people involved. I do wish to see them leave a lifestyle that is clearly debilitating to them, something God would also want for them. As I said, the choice is yours. People who wish to see you make the choice for change don't hate you.

A final point, The Apostle Paul talks extensively about both truth & peace. An important position he makes is that both of these conditions are related to the major concept of sanctification. He insists that as we are sanctified and mature in God & His word we experience authentic peace. In Hebrews, he tells BELIEVERS not to have an evil & hard heart. Believers must avoid apostasy & the corruption of natural wisdom. Paul says to be steadfast in the truth and righteousness.

There is much more to the passage but I'm not going to post the entire thing. Here's the truth, God loves all of us. Every single sinner on the Earth, God loves us. But, God does not love the sin we commit. Please explain to me why God would create Adam and soon after create Eve from a part of Adam's body to therefore "complete" him, if man and woman didn't go together?

" Although often homosexuality did go hand in hand with idolatry in the OT and NT." Condemning every aspect of homosexuality for the conduct of those involved in pegan orgies is as ludicrous as trying to do so with every aspect of heterosexuality had the acts involved unwed participants of DIFFERENT gender.

Mel, You did not characterize God correctly. Why does Jesus refer to God as Father? Because God has been identified by Jesus as being male not female. I was sympathetic up to your final statements. I have to reject your female interpretation of God and your entire message.

Read his first book, Stranger at the Gate. It tells his life story. He went to God over and over for years. He wanted nothing more than to please God and serve him in the ministry and bring souls to be saved, but thought he had to be straight to do so, so he was constantly in prayer for God to heal him or help him "do right." Don't judge someone's life based on a three minute video of them.

Whether lesbian or homosexual, you have justified your lifestyle through convoluting of scriptures. That is why you think it is a gift, but you were given a choice. GOD is not a she, but the spirit that you are entertaining makes you say the things you are saying and believe what you believe.

God created everyone the same; living a gay alternative lifestyle is a choice. You cannot be gay and go to Heaven. Leviticus 18 spells in out very clearly. Heaven or Hell everyone will be in one of these places after they die. Only true Christian's believers in Christ Jesus living a Godly life will enter Heaven. Yes God loves you but does not condone your behavior and all will stand in judgment.

Then my actions of fornication before I was born again must be a gift from God? Certainly not they were the sins that weighed me down, that showed me I was a wretch and needed to be saved by the grace of God. Then God did it rather than the punishment I deserve for fornication, adultery, murder etc, which is Hell, He had mercy of me and gave me Eternal life because of His loving kindness. He did not overlook my sins, no rather He poured out the cost on my sins upon Himself on the Cross of Calvary. For it pleased the Father to bruise the Son. O can I go back and continue to live in sin after the grace that is given to me daily to do so is to mock God and make myself god. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Read Romans 1:18 through 3:10 it shows the depravity of man. Faithful are the wounds of a friend but the kiss of the enemy is deceitful. Poor Mr. White he is kissing rather than wounding.

Mel, you might not remember me, but you were the first white, that i had a crush on, during my time with you, Franklin Brown and Zetta, and others. You taught me that it was alright to look a "white person in the eyes" and not lower your head, as i was born in the south, and this was protocol. I learned to look into your blue eyes, admire your blond hair and handsomeness, without guilt. i have completed my RN program and since i was told that i could not become a Nurse, because i was" black and intellectually inferior" i took the license to the H.S. teacher who fed me this lie and did not stop until i received my PhD. I have seen 30,000 uninsured, underinsured and "at risk" families, gang members, people representing twelve different nations, and did it all in the name of Jesus, in my clinic in N. Portland. I told my story on OPRAH as her 2000 "Use Your Life" award winner. Mariah A. Taylor

"As Christians we know we were born in sin and have a natural tendency to crave flesh and the things of this world." There's a difference between carnal lust and romantic love. This is a distinction too many fail to make in the case of same gender relationships.

Apart from the passages I have mentioned, Sodom is mentioned in 41 other verses in the Bible: Genesis 10:19, 13:10, 12, 13, 14:2, 8, 10, 11, 12, 17, 21, 22, 18:16, 19:24, 28, Deuteronomy 29:23, 32:32, Isaiah 1:9, 10, 3:9, 13:19, Jeremiah 23:14, 49:18, 50:40, Lamentations 4:6, Ezekiel 16:46, 48, 49-50, 53, 55, 56, Amos 4:11, Zephaniah 2:9, Matthew 10:15, 11:23, 24, Luke 10:12, 17:29, Romans 9:29, 2 Peter 2:6, Revelation 11:8. And only He knows His INFINATELY vast and complex will from beginning to end. "Why would someone who says they are "evanglical" use this term, unless they are seeking to provoke controvesy." I remember hearing a Southern Baptist minister state that in many ways, not only was our Lord our Heavenly Father but our Heavenly Mother as well. It's partly why I think such a reference made with sincerity and reverence to our Lord would be provocative only to the most extreme of evangelical followers and leaders.

"That ending sounds just like the devil.Telling you to except your sinful nature." Not all Christians believe all same gender relationships are sinful. "This man is in fact a tool of the devil." Sounds familiar since the Christ Himself was once called the devil by the spiritual authorities of the time. It's sometimes those supposedly fighting the devil the hardest that may be most under his influence.

"So are you proposing that we eliminate belief in sin as a whole and make everthing a free for all?" Im stating, because of highly possible mistranslation and misinterpetation, that those who believe that all homosexuality is sin may be mistaken. If they are, then they themselves may be in sin for bearing false wittness against their neighbors. The wonderful thing is that forgiveness is in reach when we ask it for ourselves and EACH OTHER.

(continued) @Abdelatif belmamoune - Bisexuality is romantic attraction, sexual attraction or behavior toward males and females. The term is mainly used in the context of human attraction to denote romantic or sexual feelings toward men and women. Bisexuality is one of the 3 main classifications of sexual orientation, along with a heterosexual and a homosexual orientation. Bisexuality has been observed in various human societies and elsewhere in the animal kingdom throughout recorded history.

I'm gay. I never really thought of being gay as a "gift from God." Honestly, I feel upset about being gay. I prefer not to be gay. Ummmmm...I feel...guilty for being unable to fully accept being gay, as strange as that may sound to some people. Also, I feel angry at God for bestowing upon me this gift. "Therefore citing that Jesus didn't mention homosexuality does absolutely nothing regarding your argument..." The silence over homosexuality in the Gospels marks an enormous gray area in the very core of the Bible. The fact Christ said nothing about it leaves a glaring space for the possibility for its tolerance and even acceptance by our Lord.

Is being gay a "sin" or "gift"? It's probably best answered in the heart of the believer. Personal Biblical interpetations have been argued for decades with NO sign of stopping anytime soon. Im glad it's our Lord alone who makes the final call. Even for the person who is wrong or less right, there is cause for optomism since forgiveness is in reach when we ask it for ourselves and EACH OTHER. :)

Exactly. I believe that the Philosophies in the bible can make people better people, regardless of whether or not you believe in God or anyone. If you removed all accounts of God from the bible, like any other religion, you have the base philosophies of peace, tolerance, and more importantly how to be a good person. Homosexuality aside, knowing that this man slit his own wrists because of intolerance is so sad and monstrous to think about. I don't think God or Jesus would want that.

Many cite scripture to "prove" same gender relations sinful. This is eventhough such relations are scripturely referenced almost entirely in terms of prostitution or pagan ritual. To therefore definitively say all types of same gender relations, like marriage, sinful may be saying too much on behalf of our Lord and may cause problems between Him and the accuser involving the Ninth Commandment which Christ upheld in Matt. 19:18.

One thing I like about the Soulforce website is that it posts full letters and url's of gay Christian opponent sites in an effort to offer different viewpoints. Fortunately the problem is easily remedied with just a couple of clicks. :)

"it is up to human beings to stop homosexuals from gaining any favor over man woman and child" Why? Anytime religious people feel threatened or have prejudice and believe some sort of stereotype, regardless of justification, that is the religious person's problem that they alone should own up to and to preferably address in a positive manner. Gay people are in the world! Ok? That is just the way it is. Therefore, showing kindness to gay people is a much better use of one's time.

I come from a family of Christians who condemn homosexuality because they believe in Leviticus God denounces it. They fail to read the next paragraph which denounces growing a certain shape of beard and gives the community a right to stone that person. If there is a God he has been let down by His followers who would rather preach hate, condemnation and judgement over others than love which is at the very root of the word. I hope these people are held accountable one day.

That MAY have been their personal understanding. If that understanding was incorrect, it would simply been one more of the considerable list of mistakes made by the Pharisees, who were instrumental in having Christ crucified.

"YOU know that homosexuality is a sin -- don't you?" You know that eventhough the NT condemns ALL sexual conduct outside of marriage, it does not speak to same gender marriage? "Have a nice day!" You too, thanks for the chat. :)

@jaimeanna1412 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; ... Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! Is. 5:20,21.

Do you just quote Scripture from the hip? Is that your thing? Or are you capable of critical thought?

Mel White never actually stated "Mark" to be a prostitute. He did compare his infidelity to that of David with Bathsheba, in effect admitting his conduct was wrong. He said he wrote about it knowing many on the far right would accuse him of giving way to lust and that he needed to repent, eventhough decades of attempted repentance and prayer did not change him. NOT saying I condone his actions. At least however he is forthright about it UNLIKE Ted Haggard or Jimmy Swaggart.

Personally, I think it's God's greatest blessing to us is His keeping ultimate judgement is in His hands ALONE. It's why Im never more prayerful for even the agnostic or the athiest than the fellow christian who presumes such judgements on God's behalf in violation of Matt. 7:1-2 and (perhaps) the nineth commandment.

" "orientation" is irrelevant concerning the biblical view of marriage." This "biblical view" is how (too) many label their OWN personal view of the Bible.
