The Gift

Brownieland partnered with the Atlanta Speech School's Rollins Center for Language and Literacy to create a video to help teachers and leaders recognize the gifts of dual language learners. Aptly named The Gift, it shows how teachers can transform the classroom into a dual language learning supportive environment and embrace the gifts of their students.
Dual language learners, or learners who think, read, and write in more than one language, are a large part of our school-aged population. One in 4 children under eight years old in the US is a dual language learner. But too often, they are not recognized for their gifts of language and culture that they bring to a classroom.
