A neat story I have heard many times and fairly familiar with. 7:13 Allow me to clarify the disconnect. When they dipped the tanks they were measuring the volume of the fuel, but as stated in the video, aircraft fuel is done by weight. So they had to convert from liters to kilograms. Problem is they all used the formula to convert to pounds without realizing it. Since pounds are smaller than kilograms, when they did the conversions they thought they had more fuel in the tanks than they did. 20:19 "Footage ripped off without permission..." Ha ha ha! Well, at least you are both honest about it and cited your source, so that is better than a good number of KZbin channels out there.

In metrick system density is in grams per cubic centimeter (1 for water, 13,6 for mercury) if you use pounds per liter you'll end with 0.454 the quantity of the same fuel.

Slight mistake: The Boeing switched the board computers to metric weight units for fuel. The mistake was to calculate the volume incorrectly then. So it's rather not due to Canada's metrification primarily but the board computer using metric (Kilograms). Even if Canada did not go metric that error would have occured.

I recall reading this old story in the Readers Digest back in the early 80's. But I could never find it because I mistakenly looked for "Gideon's Glider" instead of the "Gimli Glider!" Ha! I should have saved all those vintage Readers Digests, doggone it! In my old age, I have become extremely sentimental, waaa!

Does anyone know what happened to Albert and Tony? They didn’t post any new episodes on the Apple podcast app and it seems like they just stopped making episodes

Same idiot thing happened to my a year ago at a a hospital, ER kept telling me I weighed 115 K, I kept arguing, I said that's not possible, we went around a few times, I said a person just does not lose that amount of weight, unless, unless, they a using a Kilo to Pound of 2.2 Kilo to pounds, doesn't sound like much, turns our I remembered this movie, the correct Conversion one way or the other is 2.2, not 2.

If you could increase the production quality of your videos a little bit and spent a little money for design and marketing ... your channel could take off. Things are a bit rough around the edges with your content, but I enjoy the concept of the channel, however, due to your lack of video production skills, I would suggest turning this content into a podcast. It would probably work better for you

"The strangeness that's coming next week." - Not a good way to "hype" your upcoming video. First of all, absolutely no information was given about "what's coming next week" and ... furthermore ... i would hope that EVERY week you guys are bringing it... so, as a fan, i should always expect great content right? If it's something out of the ordinary, unusual, or something that deserves extra promotion (maybe a charity event?) then give us more detail. "The strangeness that's coming next week." devalues your content.
