I am from Illinois USA. I was completely in awe of the gentleman at the end working with bamboos. It’s just wonderful.

Did you know that some species of bamboo are stronger than steel is some aspects? Tensile strength is where bamboo excels as compared to steel. Bamboo is also much lighter (of course) and easily a sustainable source of building material. Bamboo is almost the perfect material to build buildings from, except for a few downsides. It has no where near the compression strength of steel, so you wouldn't be able to build very high. It is also difficult to connect, as you cannot simply nail it together. It is very flammable. It will burn down to nothing flat extremely quickly.
