I agree with Alex 100%. I can relate to this first hand. Even though I grew up in predominately “white neighborhoods” I’m still BLACK where ever I go. I am still that black girl that can’t be too loud and get outcasted sometimes. I agree with Simone too because although she’s half white, people are still gonna look at her blackness. Trust me, I’ve seen it firsthand.
@kavontaylor24854 жыл бұрын
@tyrez moss, this is true. It doesn't matter if she is rich. Its her skin color. She'll be treated the same as a poor or wealthy one so star needs to stop with that "I wasn't born with a sliver spoon".
@xs_eli83498 жыл бұрын
Star may be a self-centered and arrogant. Alex may had silver spoon up her but, Star has to realize the difference of "privilege" and "white privilege" Yes, Alex is a black girl raise in the city and Star is white girl raised on the streets and she feels like she understands how if it feels to be black and she doesn't realize the what kind of privilege she has as a white woman. Comparing a white girl and a black girl both raised in streets. The white girl would have way more privileges. I honestly don't think Star isn't thinking about the race of this situation. Star thinks just because, she raised in the hood that she understands how it feels to be black. Alex in the other hand, is saying that no matter where she comes from, uptown or downtown, she is Black Wherever She Goes and what I always say "It's what you say, It's how you say it." And Alex I agree with every word that Alex said. But, How she said it was little harsh. Well, because this topic is a very serious matter and she's still upset about what Star did on the previous episode.(I would pissed as well) that's why Star stormed off. (I'm standing up for Star) I'm just giving my opinions.

In my opinion Star is treated unfairly but that doesn't mean Alex and Simone don't have a point. When you're black it is hard to walk on the streets because you know people will give you weird looks and be talking behind your back. But then again they're basically saying that Star is like the rest of the white people that is basically sterotyping. Not all whites are racist you know. Although Star is acting like she knows how it feels like when really she doesn't. She's talking about how hard it is to be poor and on the streets but they're not talking about that. So I get both points of the story so I'm not picking sides.

i do feel bad for star here but those 2 were just saying Gods honest truth! y'll this wasn't about money or who had a tougher upbringing, it was about standing up against policy brutality when it comes to black people. so you know what Alex IS black and you all saw the episode she got arrested really roughly for no reason. that's what this was about, don't come here and say oh Star understands. whether you are black or white you can't tell me white people really understand this.yes they may feel bad or be against it but until you can't enroll in a school because you are black, or go certain places without people looking at you like you are out of place or in some cases even telling you as much, or not being considered for a swim team because black people "cant" swim or have the oh how did you manage to get here look 🙉 then you really don't understand, you MAY GET it but YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!! e.g if star understood then she would have understood when Alex got moved from the middle and had her face powdered so many times because she wasn't light enough. star was too obnoxious to see it. Hell EVEN Simone knew what was and still is going on that's why she is on Alex's side.

No one else matters and she's willing to do anything and everything even if it hurts people that's she is surrounded to get what she wants. If there isn't a character development with her then I may stop watching, only reason I watch this show is due to the fact Ryan Destiny, Quincy Jones , Queen Latifa and the other characters are relatable and more.... I'm sure the actual actress that plays Star is bomb, it's just her character is making it hard for me to enjoy the show.

Actually it does matter what family you're born into. Race matters too of course, but when you're a kid living in a poor family it doesn't matter what colour you are you're going to be the butt of the joke to more privileged kids. After you grow up and if you ever make your own money you can have a better life and better friends, but no one can give you your childhood back. No one can give me my childhood back either. And the world will never change unfortunately, people will always find a reason to hate you, make fun of you, discriminate you.
