I love your idea of finding somewhere to donate yarn (or FOs). We do all have a lot, and i'm at the point where I did 2 yarn wishes and then realized I don't actually need any more, I have plenty, and there's no need to ask for more. I'd love to see something like this organized.

I love you ladies, your generous hearts make you even more beautiful. I hope to meet you at Rhinebeck 2019! Anyway, my local knitters guild (Madison Knitters Guild) does a fundraiser each December- donated yarn is sold to raise funds for a local food bank charity, Second Harvest. They have raised over $10,000 each year for them! Also, there is a group that was organizing a teach kids to knit weekend but I’m not sure if that happened already. That’s through D Marie Knits, a LYS. If you want any more contact info just let me know! Madison knitters loved your yarn at Knitcircus recently!

Welcome back ladies!!! I’m so sorry for your loss, Christy. I remember when my budgie passed I was so distraught. (16 years ago, it still bothers me) Beautiful projects you two!! It always feels good to give, my nephew’s best friend drown in his swimming pool 5 years ago (he was 5 yrs old), his mom couldn’t afford to buy his headstone and she raised only a few hundred dollars and so I asked my brother how much she still needed and I gave him the rest of the money to give to her and I never even met her, she wanted to thank me and I just told my brother to tell her that it was my pleasure to help out. (She’s a single mom) You ladies have a wonderful Thanksknitting!!!! Happy knitting from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️Marie

The Girls In The Yarn Cafe: A Knitting Podcast It was confusing for him, as he was 5 years old, I don’t believe that my brother and sister in law explained death to him before this happened. I’d never met his friend or his mom, but I felt that this woman had lost her only child and she was a single parent without any family and she didn’t need to have the burden of trying to make ends meet and paying for his headstone, so I just had to help her out. (I’m a mom too, and I couldn’t imagine the pain of losing a child) Happy Holidays!!! ❤️ from 🇨🇦

Hey, guys, I love all of your new colorways! And I'm not 100% sure, but I think that the doe in the original Rudolph movie was named Faline. Edited to add: I was incorrect. Clarice was the character name in Rudolph. The doe in Bambi was named Faline.

Yes!!! I love the large skeins of yarn! That's a great idea. I don't understand why they bother to put up yarn in 50g skeins. If you want a sweaters worth of yarn you have to buy 10-12 skeins. I'll use another yarn rather than work with little balls of yarn.

Olive the other Reindeer, was a dog who thought she was a reindeer, because her name was Olive and the song said All of the other reindeer. It's a cute cartoon.

Knit and Crochet With a Gilmoregirl that..... is pretty much adorable!! 😱
@readknitwithcheryl6 жыл бұрын
Hi! I just remembered the cartoon clearly. Olive thinks she's a reindeer not because of the song. There's a radio report that Santa's lead reindeer is injured, so he's asking "all of the other reindeer" to help. So the book and cartoon is about Olive's trip to the North Pole to help Santa. just thought I'd let you know, lol. love your podcast!

i tried the fish lips kiss heel and hated it-its fussy and boasts that it requires no measuring.....except having to make a foot template, take multiple measurements and read a heel pattern that is over 10 pages. The fleegle heel is basically the same thing but easier to do and i think better results. The afterthought heel is a tighter fit through the instep and a better fit on me. I use the Kirby wirby cut in method and do not have issues with holes at the edges. I also knit all my socks toe up "up on the rooftop, reindeer paws..." as in paw at the roof..... always how i thought about that. funny how we all have a different take on it
@LRMau6 жыл бұрын
Ok, me again. There is a children's book called Olive the Other Reindeer. (Say it aloud and you'll get it.) I'm not a fan of the Rudolph story because it seems the message is if you're different, you'd better have some kind of super power. Maybe that's just me. And by the way, I also thought it was "reindeer paws". I know reindeer don't have pause, but I thought it was a matter of artistic license since hooves doesn't rhyme with Claus. haha
@yarncafecreationshanddyedy12716 жыл бұрын
LRMau Thank you! I feel validated!! 😀❤️

Pause, meaning they pause on the roof so Santa can jump out of the sleigh.

If afterthought heels throw off your measurement, just knit to your foot length minus TWO toe measurements.. cause the heel is the same as the toe ;)
