SLIGHTLY different cultural milieu for me growing up. Oahu girls: “I can’t wait to surf all summer when school’s out.” In rural Illinois? Four days after schools out your old man starts looking sideways at ya: “you got a summer job lined up?” Here’s what I learned in my teen years about working your butt off in 105° heat all summer: I’d rather be surfing with dolphins. Screw this “work ethic” bull. I wanna be out on the waves with the girls. I’m happy for em. I hope they treasure their youth. There’s enough years “adulting” ahead of em. This is better.

The flip side though, if you can earn enough money you can buy a house without a mortgage and save 3 times more money then what you bought the house for since you aren't paying interest. You can do a lot with that extra money, or retire early. Though people used to live with their parents until they could buy a house, now they leave right away and start amassing debt.

What a lifestyle. Going to the beach surfing after school >.< We played soccer almost every day after school. Even during the break on the schoolyard. The scenery of Hawaii may look awesome but I think you get used to it if you live there. In the end of the day it is the same everywhere on this planet. It's about meeting your friends and spend time with them.

Hi Ladies, I surfed Queens and Canoes as a kid when Beach Center was still there, I watched the Biltmore come down (May, 28th 1974), so long ago, I'm so happy that Waikiki is still a place to have fun, get stoked and play in the warm water. Aloha Ladies!

I'm curious about something. I used to wear bathing suits that covered more, but once I tried less, and even nothing when the situation allowed, I discovered that I hate the feeling of fabric on my skin when in the water, the more you wear the worse it is. So many people in this video can be seen wearing long sleeved bathing suits, they must feel awful, why would anyone choose to wear one? I can understand wanting more coverage with a one piece or certain two piece styles, but I can't get my head around wanting sleeves, especially when it's a normal bottom with it. Its like max coverage with least coverage in one bathing suit. Only thing I can think of is they are more concerned with getting sun on their arms, but then not their hands and legs?
