The Giver Chapter 1 with instruction

Chapter 1 in a nutshell: Jonas does his normal day with the speaker thing telling people to put their bike down and stuff. Asher keeps on being not careful by using "bad language" and gets called out for precision of language. The community doesn't like it when you tell other people that they're released and Jonas gets home to see Lily complaining on how someone kept on cutting the line. Jonas was an 11 while lily was a 7 and Jonas was getting ready for the ceremony of 12. Jonas's day (aka the Nurturer) talks about how Gabe is acting up and might get released.

Jonas is thinking about how he is feeling about the Ceremony of Twelve, which is upcoming. He realizes he is feeling apprehensive, like he did the day the plane flew overhead (flashback.)
