I discuss only the introduction of one of the first popular books written on Christian Gnosticism after the discovery of the Nag Hammadi Gnostic library in 1945. This is the first video in a series where I will discuss each chapter of this book. Yeah, it is late at night, and I am tired from work, so thank you very much if you made it to the end of this video.
The Gnostic Gospels, by Elaine Pagels, published by Random House in 1979. You can view and purchase all of Elaine Pagel's publications here:

Thank you again for listening, Heather. Did I whet your appetite for a re-read of Pagels? 😆

@@JosephFrancisBurton Definitely you made me remember how amazed I was about the Nag Hammadi discovery in light of where I was when I read it. Pagels' book about the origins of Satan had the same effect. I realised how much knowledge my former church was ignoring and keeping its members from knowing

@@heathereads - YUP I remember my amazement also. The last book to leave me up all night reading was _Lost Christianities_ by Bart Ehrman - I was astounded at what we were not being told HAHA

Will you be leaving this video up? Asking because I'm cutting a tag video for Sunday which will mention it, since you kind made me rediscover my own book LOL

Oh my!! Yes Heather, I stopped deleting my book review videos. They are all available going back 14 years. I only delete my more chatty tag videos after a day or two. Thank you for asking. By the way I shall be uploading a discussion of Chapter One of this book later this weekend HAHA.

The story of the guys who found the library is more interesting than the texts. By the way I checked Wiki and Elaine was born in 1943 and is 81 now
