After humiliating the FIFA player of the year and bagging a goal and an assist, the Real Madrid fans gave Ike Uche a deserved standing ovation as he left the field of play.
Ikechukwu Uche is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a striker. He spent most of his professional career in Spain representing Recreativo, Getafe, Zaragoza, Villarreal, Granada and Málaga.

The biggest problem with African players is they are only good for a small period of time. Having talent will only get you so far, consistency separates average from the greats.

Real Madrid brought some great ballon d’or a but the worst one were Michael Owen & Fabio Cannavaro by far. Every time there is a poll about ballon d’or players, Cannavaro comes out at the bottom; the worst to ever win the award. Flop @ Real Madrid.

Owen did not do badly. Actually had the best game to goal ratio that season. He left at start of next season because of playing time He had become number 4 on the pecking order behind R9, Raul, Robinho.

@@ekeoma4639 you have to judge in comparison to other ballon d’or. That’s the standard on which I’m evaluating him. Compared to other ballon d’ors, he has the least in terms of significant trophies. I’m aware of his better goal to minute ratio over half a season but this was achieved as a substitute. He technically was the replacement for Morientes who went to Monaco on loan and the latter did far better than him (@ Monaco and Real Madrid both).

You couldn’t present even one candidate who was worst than that. And that stat of best goal to minute ratio was only for the first half a season; not a full season.
