The MPCA says the upper Mississippi is largely healthy up north, but the quality drops south of St. Cloud.

It's so much better than it used to be even 10 years ago. I see beavers in the Minneapolis section now which is great. Hope to see continuing progress!

The Mississippi River should be a national park/national waterway

Actually I think it is. I frequen Crosby Park in St Paul, and NPS gives guided tours of the foliage and the river

It looks to me that the state is trying to make everyone else to blame for the run off and not the state for the the untreated over flowage out of the water treatment plant

I know the area (we call Pool 2) between St Anthony Falls and Hastings, don't swim, don't eat the fish, it is like an open sewer. Agricultural run off from the Minnesota River, and the Waste Water Treatment Plant in St. Paul don't help

Calling all Democrats to Minnesota for A Harris Walz Swim Party 😂
@thomasklegstad8538Ай бұрын
Dude. Why don't you approve of this. You're a conservative. This is conservation. Rural Minnesotans go fishing. How is improving the quality of the largest river in the state for the purposes of fishing and swimming a bad thing? Give me one reason this is a bad thing besides the fact that it was a Democrat who proposed it.

@@thomasklegstad8538 real Americans want their taxes spent wisely. Taking a 18 billion dollar surplus ( usually means people were overtaxed ) and adding ten billion more in taxes isn’t spending wisely . Case in point - EVs don’t pay gas taxes so they don’t help pay for roads . The Dems in their infinite wisdom wouldn’t consider taxing EVs as those are most likely Dem voters. Instead they add a 50 cent charge to every delivered package of 100 dollars or more . Many of those getting packages don’t own a car or are older people who can’t drive and are subsidizing EV owners who obviously can pay more as EVs are cheap

@@thomasklegstad8538 that is just a way that the governor office can blame someone else for what the city of Minneapolis has doing for years the fact is feed lots are not allowed to have runoff from there feed lots they have to have state permits so as usual it someone else’s responsibility

@@jeffreydadd7353 so you're saying the millions of gallons of water pumped straight to drainage ditches which lead straight to rivers has zero pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers in it? Go drive down a country road. Every other field has drain tile pumping after every rainfall. Get real
