Just heard that Robert passed I don't think it's possible to describe the impact that Robert Lansdorp had on a whole bunch of great champions, his reputation was mostly made on their groundstrokes, a bunch of famous tennis champs with flat, clean ,hard hit backhands and forehands that rarely broke down were reliable under the most intensely stressful moments. Players like Sampras, Tracy Austin Linsday Davenport, Sharpova ( more women than men for whatever reason ) all say his contribution to their success was immense. Yes his personality was rough and intimidating and he was a poor self promoter ( he was too busy for that crap would be his answer) but as a tennis fan he's that guy that I think ' God I wish they would do one less Federer book and instead do a Robert Lansdorp book on tennis technique and grounstroke power' Check out Tracy Austin's tribute to Robert from few years ago, it's excellent.
