The 17 pounder remains viable up to like 7.0 in the Centurian Mk II. I'd argue the Firefly is its true sweetspot but you can get it at an even lower BR than this in the Archer.

Used to be good. Now they are horrible. Got nerfed way too much with the APDS changes. Only OP British canon is the 105mm at 7.7. Especially the Vickers Mk.1 with stabilizer and and crazy short reload.

Agreed. The amount of what used to be sure shot kills now does sod all on the comets or just doesn't even bother to pen (I mean Tigers on the side should pen easily and now it's like I'm using a spud gun).

challenger APDS is decent but the comet got nerfed into the ground. it rarely detonates ammo in one shot and doesnt create enough spalling to kill a crew.

@chrisdt2297 I used to like them, but now they are horrible. Recently, I played the Centurion mk.1, and that's quite OP on its BR. The only usefull low caliber APDS I would say. Otherwise, the 105mm on Centurion mk.10 and Vickers MBT, etc. are the only canons with viable APDS.

One thing I’m definitely jealous of as a German main vs most American and British vehicles is the de minimus exhaust plumes they put out. German exhaust plumes tends to give them away, if you’re not constantly turning the engine off while using them. While all vehicles give engine noise, American and British vehicles are rarely sight-able based on exhaust plumes.

having a keybind for switching to the commander's .50 is an excellent way tosave yourself some grief at lower tiers. with some practice, you can pilot snipe strafing aircraft before they get rounds on target. at the very least, it's sometimes enough to convince them to look for an easier target. can't count how many times it's saved me
