My grandfather used to play this on his mandolin. He stopped when my mother passed away. He recently passed as well and I now have his mandolin. Thank you for playing so beautifully. It's motivating for me. I want to learn so I can play for my grandmother while we still have her. Thank you for your music, It goes far.

Thanks a lot! Mine is an artisan mandolin, built by an elderly man from Catania, over 90 years old (Gioacchino Cordaro). The bands are made of cane wood!

@@GiuseppeTorrisi I want so badly to get in touch with my Italian heritage in that musical sense. I know nothing about the Mandolin really. I kind of know a bit about guitars. What do you have your Mandolin tuned to? I think I'm asking the right question? Like Drop C and Drop D in Guitar. I just picked up a starter Ukulele from Amazon. I found the 6 strings of a guitar very hard for me. Kind of overwhelming so I went with a 4 string instrument that I could bring with me everywhere. It has a book for beginners and all that. It should arrive later today. I'm very excited!

@@GiuseppeTorrisi My mother's father's last name was Previtera. His family came to the USA and settled in Philadelphia in the early 1920's (they were from Palermo). He became a decorated war hero and he became the Commander of the Sea Bees. He was also a great architect and was awarded the Bronze Star for protecting a Catholic Orphanage in China during WWII. The US gov wanted him to be a spy in Italy because he spoke such fluent Italian. His response was , "I'll never fight my own people." My father's parents come from Asti and Turino and they settled in Avondale, Pennsylvannia and grew mushrooms and employed dozens of American workers. My grandfather fought in the 2nd Alpini in WWII with his father and his father was also a Veteran from WWI. My father's family name is Aschiero and his mother's was Pia!
