It is a bit sad seeing penny get the aerith mini date instead of tifa because, after seeing tifa's mini date myself, I was so excited to see penny react to it especially knowing how big of a cloti shipper she is! But i'm also gonna see it as a good thing cause I actually didn't know what aerith's mini date looked like so it was fun! And this is basically a yipee thing! Aerith's mini date first then getting Tifa's date in the future is a win in my book! Thanks for the stream penny looking forward to future rebirth streams! Ps. I was really curious about how this was going to be done also, although I didn't have a horse in the proverbial naming race. If it helps, I think of it this way. Cait's accent is fake, so you can assume that the person controlling Cait didnt know how to say it either. So its kind of like an adorable in-universe flub and a neat way of showing how its all an act. Another way of looking at it is localization is important in context. We dont hold other languages to that because the expectations for that is kind of high. (Hence why we dont get mad at Japanese VA for messing up all kinds of English naming conventions.) Gaelic and English connotations and enunciation is not the same. In my eyes, SQEX did the right thing a few months ago when they made sure they made a public announcement about the mythos and Gaelic pronouncation and still wanted to make sure the name was clear. Love your videos btw. Looking forward to the rest of them. :)

Hm ok so small nitpick about that Barrett's flashback is that everyone in that room seemed to be in agreement for Shira building the reactor and yet the survivors of Correl all seem to out Barret specifically, even though it was a unanimous vote which would kinda make everyone present in that decision excluding Dyne responsible rather than one guy. I guess its implied everybody was on the fence until Barret really pushed for the deal offered by Scarlet and made everyone see his way but still I just felt what is told and what is shown doesn't line up. Small nitpick for sure. FYI I've played the original so I know all this stuff but I just think this one scene in Rebirth is a bit clunky on the execution because a new-comer (in my case, a friend who's new to 7's world) would just be like "but they all agreed to it so why're they mad at Barret?" This is all important to point out in my case because a specific future scene made my friend scratch her head rather than weep like a baby. Food for thought

In the meeting we saw, Barret actively pushed forward and Dyne actively pushed back. It’s pretty safe to assume that most people in Corel lacked agency or strong opinions in the matter, and that’s why they felt okay throwing Barret under the bus. It’s way more scummy that way, but I think it’s also more realistic.

Doesn’t help that he’s the only (known) survivor of the post-explosion Shinra raid. There’s definitely a bit of scapegoat-ism for sure.

I think Penny might have gotten the Aerith date over Tifa because of the Condor quest back in Junon. That’s a Tifa-connected quest, and the star rating on the photo mattered for the relationship points. I’ve been playing this game in the same completionist way Penny is, and that’s the only big difference - I got the three-star photo there.

Starter Deck Sally would be in shambles if it came out one day that the more you lost and restarted at Queen's Blood, the worse the AI would play on purpose, until eventually it just gave you the win if you were playing with even basic competency. That seems like something they would do both in and out of universe. Out, because the devs might want to mitigate frustration. In, because eventually other players start to take pity on this poor weirdo who keeps rematching them with the unmodified starter deck, and they kind of just want to play against somebody else, or maybe go home and eat some lunch, but this guy _will not stop,_ plus they already beat him like nine times so it's not like their rank is effected.

There was no voice acting in the original. The original Gaelic folklore would indeed leave it as Ket Shee, but time with the localized spelling has left it as Kate Sihth in too many people’s eyes. And while a bit of an already-troubled culture is now lost again, having the mascot of the way-past-tacky-and-commercialized Gold Saucer be the marketable culture-stripped version feels so damn on the nose I’d bet money it was intentional.
