Hi Lewis. I must say Lewis the atmosphere you create and put into your videos are second to none along with your camera shots is just the sound affects of slamming doors and the hustle and bustle of passenger voices etc, etc, all add to my / our enjoyment of your layout, well done Lewis and thank you.

The over-the-hill shot of 92 Squadron as it enters Misselthwaite (@ 6'51") is stunning. How lovely to see our very own 'local' engine steaming into the station, Lewis, although it's a fair way from the NVR to the Yorkshire Dales! Also, to pick up on a previous post about weathering, the front end of the 9F looks superb and is beautifully re-created. Thanks again, my friend, on sharing your layout with us.

Having read the comment about streaming KZbin to his television I decided to do the same and after a great deal of difficulty I finally managed to upload KZbin onto my (not nearly so large) television. Oh my God! It’s absolutely stunning in large format and the quality of sound is extraordinarily good. The beauty of your photography is so much more exciting. Needless to say I very much enjoyed your video.

Despite being a single track railway, the YDR always ran a surprisingly intensive service. This was due to the retention of nearly all its passing loops, very snappy operation by its signallers and the ability of crew to catch tablet hoops at forty miles an hour. This skill was taught to footplate crew by drivers and firemen based at Machynlleth on the former Cambrian system. Some could exchange tablets at even higher speeds risking getting swiped over the back of the head as the hoop swung round, obeying Newton’s ‘Three Laws of Motion’ only too closely! The timetable could fall apart on high days and holidays with visiting crew from beyond the YDR. They couldn’t manage to exchange tablets at 40mph and were given the nickname ‘Lancashire Fielders’, a reference to Yorkshire’s fierce cricketing rivals. YDR signallers had a curious habit of applauding every visiting crew who dropped the tablet. This didn’t go down well with ‘foreign’ crew.
@MouldyRaspberry Жыл бұрын
Ha thanks Stephen - I’d love to watch those tablet exchanges, especially the ones that went a bit wrong! 🤣
@stephensmith799 Жыл бұрын
@@MouldyRaspberry Brakes hard on. Expletives on the footplate. Reverser wound right back and Regulator as wide as adhesion would go. Fireman set to grope in the undergrowth up and down an embankment if he was unlucky. Signalman either laughing his head off or shouting at the Fireman as much as the Driver. No in between! A Please Explain form to fill in at the end of the trip and jeers from everybody… except those who had dropped a tablet themselves. Traffic delays….

Have you ever considered adding a reverse loop to your storage yard? I mean on your new layout.

Yes, but decided against it as the siding would be too short for the trains I like to run and it's a bit tricky to access.

I've recently discovered your channel and I am absolutely blown away by how beautiful this layout is, you've inspired me to try to make a "proper" layout instead of just a loop of track. I'm thinking of making something inspired by the Heart of Wales Line, so I'm wondering, what have you used to make the track look really overgrown at 6:21, and can Locomotives actually run over it without the foliage getting stuck to the wheels?

Thank you 😀 yes as long as it’s glued down and the locos don’t catch on it 👍🏻

10 to 15 minutes of excellent content that’s well filmed and edited is spot on. This guy’s videos are the very best on KZbin. The way he synchronises the sound with the film still amazes me.
@KJames2345 Жыл бұрын
@@peterrobinson903 Oh so those sounds are fake? I thought it was dcc, so dcc isn't that good when it comes to sounds, so the only thing dcc is good for is being over priced because a train has a de-coder inside.
@peterrobinson903 Жыл бұрын
@@KJames2345 I wouldn't call them fake Kevin because they are actual recordings of trains so I was told . Yes if dcc was that good that it could replicate train wheels going over rail joints it maybe worth the money.
