Following World War II, and after the triumphs of "Dick" Button, came a spectacularly remarkable Men Figure Skater from the United States: Hayes Alan jenkins, suave and stylish. A champion from 1953 to 1956, and Olympic Champion in 1956.
Hayes' brother, David Jenkins, more athletic and incredibly musical, was a champion in 1957, 1958 and 1959. He became Olympic Champion in 1960.
There was the gifted Ronald Robertson, arguably the best spinner in the history of Figure skating.
American Ladies of the time were also superb. Carol Heiss, fast, sporty, feminine, a five times world champion and Olympic champion in 1960.
And finally Tenley Albright, a contrast to Carol Heiss. Regal, artistic and original. She became a world champion in 1953 and 1955. She also won Gold at the 1956 Olympic Winter Games.
