This is one of Eddie Murphy's most underrated films. Gets overshadowed by his other 80s movies like 48 hours, Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2, Trading Places, and Coming to America.

@NelsonVlog663 ай бұрын
The Golden Child was Eddie Murphy's followup to 1984's Beverly Hills Cop from 1986. He took a year off from movies to record his first music album How Could It Be which featured the single "Party All the Time" in 1985. The song, "Best Man In the World" heard during the opening credits was written by John Barry who had written several of the James Bond theme songs. The song was sung by Ann Wilson(of Heart fame).

Yes, that is Frank Welker, who first used that voice as Dr. Claw. He must have really liked it, because he later used it for Darkseid in Superfriends and, electronically modified, Soundwave on Transformers. Of course, his signature role is Freddy Jones in the Scooby-Doo franchise.

@@russellh.3150 possibly but Frank was in nearly everything. Any movie that had an odd vocalization in it somewhere, they usually had him do it. Remember that 90s Jim belushi buddy-cop movie “K9” where the other cop was a cranky old German Shepard? All the weird sounds the dog made was actually Frank. Aliens, animals, demons, he did them all. They didn’t have computers to help make all the weird noises back in the day so they had Frank do nearly all of them and before him the famous Mel Blanc did lots of that stuff up through the 70s at least.

Years later, Murphy called this film a piece of s#it. The film developed a cult following, but even the producers and director admitted the movie was not what it should have been, but was a movie crafted as a "Eddie Murphy film" on the heels of Beverly Hills Cop.
