Oatmeal for breakfast, potatoes and sauerkraut for lunch, pasta for dinner. I lost 50 pounds and Asthma, arthritis, hay fever, diverticulitis, I have a lot more energy and feel 10 years younger. God bless John and Mary McDougall!

I just watched a dietician "review and critique" one of your videos. She was not nice, calling you irresponsible. I was shocked. I don't think she knows the science behind plant based eating or is familiar with DR. John McDougall. Keep up the great work!
@karen-zb7pu2 жыл бұрын
Nutrition is full of junk science and junk scientists. Whole foods plant based diets are best but many people think they are impractical. With what is on offer for eating out, especially for those frequenting drive-thrus, they are right. But that doesn't change that WFPLB are best.

I despised school. I went to one of those schools for “bad kids”. When I got to college and started nursing school, I thrived. 4.0 all the way 😊. Great video and I’m proof this is working. My husband actually asked me where was I putting all the food?! He said he’s never seen me eat this much! Yet, my weight is dropping and my health has increased tremendously in a short time. Thank you, Emmie!

I hated school and dropped out at 15. Then went to a vocational school for my GED and secretarial skills. Spent 20 years in apartment management and I’m also a licensed esthetician. I’ve started a plant based diet on March 17. So far, I’ve screwed up and ate a piece of Swiss cheese today and a piece of bacon last week. It’s so hard being the only one in the house eating this way. I’m doing this for health reasons. I have severe RLS, hypothyroidism and am pre diabetic. My doctor actually suggested this diet back in 2019 and it’s taken this long for me to try it. So far, the scale hasn’t moved but my clothes feel looser.🤞🤞🤞

you are the cutest! I love listening to you...I've been struggling with my body image lately, been following WFPB for almost 2 years for health reasons...I lost weight along the way but lately I feel like i have put some back on. I got a bit lax for a while, so time to get strict strict strict. Thanks for the encouragement.

FOR THE RECORD, anyone who is skeptical of the "metabolism is broken" myth being false; I'm chronically sleep deprived because of a neurological condition. This means my entire body tries to gain mass like an American bear before hibernation. While this makes it harder to lose weight, Emmie's WFPB diet actually DOES help me lose weight!

Always enjoy your videos! I feel empowered by them. 😊 My favourite subject was English but not that I did particularly well at it. I just love reading and stories - both fiction and non-fiction. Thank you for your guidance. I feel my body changing finally. My focus is now on the quality of the calories I am eating not on the numbers. Life changer for me! I am 60 years old and about 130 lbs. I spent most of my adult life until 50 at about 115 lbs. I have gone up as high as 145 lbs in the last 10 years. I feel good/better at 130 but I would like to get to 120 lbs. With your program/lifestyle, I actually feel that I might get there. I am not looking for a quick and dirty solution but an overall healthy change in my approach to food and eating. You are my girl!!! 🥰🙏

If you’re comfortable with it, I’d love some information on how to teach my toddler about hunger/fullness cues. There’s so much out there about set meal times and structure and I just feel like that kind of misses the mark. I wish my parents had allowed me to tell THEM when I needed a meal versus the other way around. But where’s the balance with kiddos? Just let him snack all day? I’ll do absolutely anything that helps him to be better prepared for a life that is healthy physically and emotionally. I just don’t know how to do that with food.

Do you think being on an antidepressant plays a role in why you have trouble losing weight on a WFPB diet?
@jenaoakes30052 жыл бұрын
I lost a TON of weight on wfpb, but recently started an antidepressant after having a baby. It’s not a huge difference, but I can absolutely tell that the medication is affecting my appetite. I feel less satisfied by my meals and feel very snacky and craving snacks even when my stomach is full and I’ve had a recent meal. If I was not actively tracking my meals right now I would definitely gain by just following my hunger cues on my current medications.
@seaslife602 жыл бұрын
Definitely my experience! Losing weight is definitely harder but it is doable. I find exercise is a must, even if it's just walking 20-30 minutes daily at a fast pace helps. I follow Leslie Sansone (walking in place) and Annie Taylor Efremsky (dumbbell workouts) videos here on YT.

Do you believe certain mildly processed foods are okay such as soy milk, vegan protein supplement powders, maple syrup, fruit juices etc? I have been eating a diet very close to WFPB for over a year. I'm on my last 20 pounds or so and have plateaued. I've incorporated some strength training to increase muscle mass and I've kept my diet pretty calorically dilute except for the foods I mentioned but I'm starting to feel pretty disheartened 😕

That was a very good and clear talk. Thankyou . I hear many talks on being too thin they all seem to say don't worry about it because your body will find it's own level. As long as you are eating plenty. I am really full at every meal. I'm 5.1 42 kg. I feel great have plenty of energy l use some dumbbells daily to maintain muscle mass it's working. People say l am too thin , getting tired of hearing it. What are your thoughts on the subject? Thankyou

When I was a substitute for ninth grade math I pitted the bits against the girls. They had to, one of each gender at a time, go up to the board and I’d announce a math problem. They were soooo focused. If I would have known them better, I could have matched them against each other also on ability. If I ever do it again I would give a sample of the type of problem and tell them the “ contest” problem would be similar.

How do you know how many calories you burn in a day? Where do we get that information?
@sherylporter95572 жыл бұрын
There are too many variables to accurately measure that. The point is that if you are overweight then you can overcome this by eating WFPB and eat when hungry, stop eating when satiated.
@liudmilavalls23902 жыл бұрын
You know how many calories you burn daily by watching your weight and by writing down what you eat. If your weight stays the same, then you burned the same amount of calories as in the food that you consumed over a period of time.
