We used TGTB Pre K and are on the K Primer now. We will be sticking with it for LA, Math and handwriting for kindergarten this year!

Thank you! 🤗 I didn’t purchase a curriculum for preschool last year. I kind of just pieced it all together. So I don’t really have one that I can recommend. But I know the good and the beautiful had a pre-k level curriculum if you want to check that out!

This curriculum looks great!! How does it compare to sonlight in terms of difficulty? I went with horizons kinder last year and my daughter hated it.. it was extremely difficult and advanced and she was often frustrated and dreaded school time. This year I decided to go with the sonlight program level K, as she didn’t learn a lot of the basics it just moved so fast. Im hoping sonlight isn’t too hard.. I also purchased the good and the beautiful language arts primer just in case sonlight is too hard this way she can do the good and the beautiful in the summer and start sunlight language arts in the fall. TGAB told me kinder primer is a shorter curriculum to get kids ready for the next step.

I'm not sure about the comparison to sunlight. This is the only curriculum we have used so far. I know they have a great assessment online to determine which level your child will be ready for. That way they won't find it too difficult.

Hey I have a quick question about the phonics cards. I was a little confused. Are words considered mastered only if the child instantly knows the word by sight without sounding the word out three days in a row? Or is it okay if they take a second to sound out the words?

I consider it mastered when they no longer need to take the time to sound it out.

Great question! I don't use a specific curriculum for her. she's not quite 2 yet. We do a binder with color, shape matching, letter and number recognition, size differences, and things like that. as well as other basic learning activities through out the week. I will be doing a video on that shortly!

Thanks for following along! Well we LOVE the curriculum. My daughter has progressed so much so far. I say, go at the pace of the child and don't push too much. Leilah struggles more with the math curriculum than the language arts. So we take our time and really break it down. But I am excited for the future with this curriculum and ordering the next level up when she's ready.
