Basically it's about a scientist named Henry Jekyll, and he wants to separate the good and evil of a person. He ends up taking a potion and turns in Mr Edward Hyde, the evil part of a person Edit: I wrote this when I first started studying jekyll and hyde so it may not be 100% correct.

@@CrossTrooper-7589 Put simply: Hyde is just the username that Jekyll would use on the internet. Nothing more, nothing less. It's the equivalent of a fake mustache. It's a story about hypocrisy and lack of accountability. Jekyll *always* had "evil" urges (this is the Victorian era, so it could be anything, even just brawling in bars. But homosexuality is heavily hinted to be the main "urge"). He even commits them as himself, first before discovering the potion, then when he can't use it anymore. For the record: Stevenson was denouncing Victorian society, not Jekyll's "vices".
