I love the way the switch in and out of character in the show, but they are still playing a character even when they are "out of character", it makes it feel really real. I also really love the direction of this episode. It really shows how much potential sp7 has to not just in the field of comedy and bits, but actually story and character development, while driving a narrative that will resinate with people's emotions. The music definitely plays a huge component also.

ok but i seriously connect with Cib man. like I'm the punching bag of my friend group, i sell myself as a joke sometimes at the expense of looking/acting stupid and immature. In a way it's my fault for branding myself as a joke, but when you're treated like it by people you care about it's damaging. I labelled myself as such because it made people laugh, but seeing my friends treat me as nothing other than a joke is pretty hurtful. i see a lot of myself in Cib (a partially exaggerated version of himself, take that as you wish )

a.nathxma I've been worrying about his possible suicide for a while now. All those sad shots alone, not wanting to change, actual Steve saying he doesn't want to be in everything he makes. Him walking away from it after the call made me feel like he rethought it (for now)
@anathxmaasucks44897 жыл бұрын
Ashley Robles yeah i don't know, this leadup to the finale is scaring the hell outta me
@jamescrooks38017 жыл бұрын
that bridge is a famously known spot for suicide, perhaps implying that Steve considered it then, even briefly, and they way he turned away and touched the bridge, or rather patted it, further supports this idea. I doubt Steve would go that far, especially considering he is one of the main 3, but I believe they were killing someone off as they mentioned that they had planned in a beyond the pine. Not too sure however, I may be wrong.
@RubenDelight7 жыл бұрын
Ashley Robles that kinda lines up though with what they were talking about in the podcast with Jamie. Steve saying he doesn't want to be in the stuff he makes eventually, James wanting to do more acting and directing, Cib not wanting to be an idiot, it all lines up, to the point where I'm pretty sure they mentioned how healthy it would be for Steve to keep doing this, and see what toll it takes on his personal life. It feels like an exact mirror except much more dramatized. Cib hating Steve, Steve contemplating suicide, James about ready to jump ship, etc

Steven, I doubt you’re reading this right now. You guys inspire me GREATLY whenever I watch Alternative Lifestyle, and you pushed me to want to make movies because if the goofy down-to-earth guys from Sugar Pine 7 can, then I can. I absolutely love you guys and I miss this so much, the way you guys broke the fourth wall in this is to this day probably the best most heartbreaking and well-done storyline i’ve ever seen, but idk what do i know 2022 edit: I realize now I didn’t give due credit to James and Clay.

This could either be dub because it was obvious, or dumb because I'm overthinking it, but initially my thought process was that James would be the good, Steve the bad, and Cib the idiot. But by the end, Steve's tendency to grasp at outlandish hopes as well as his hard headed nature made him the idiot, and James's dreams clouded his view of reality, leading him to strongly consider betraying the group, making him the bad. The theme of chasing goals is apparent, and I think that this helps display Cib's goal of being seen as equal, this is also backed by the only other time Cib has "broken the 4th wall," when he killed Parker, because this was also Cib acting out as a result of being treated as less than. These sort of role reversals can often feel very forced, even in high budget professional productions, but the writing in this was incredible, and none of the changes felt the slightest bit unnatural, at least to me, who has watched every video by Steve on the day it was uploaded since the Minecraft days. You guys did an incredible job on this, I'm looking forward to the finale.

the way this show blurs the lines between reality and the show itself is just really fucking good like you really have to watch the podcast sometimes to really pick apart what's going on and I honestly love it

This episode is amazing, I really love how this could technically have happened. This is also really well shot, and the acting was also great, Cib especially.

I didn't even know Cib was pregnant.

This was absolutely incredible. This rivals actual full blown TV productions for character development and story. I really hope all you guys realise how fucking talented you all.
