The Good, The Bad, The Ugly - Six Man Duck Hunt Limit S2 Ep. 2

Episode 2 we are headed to one of our old stomping grounds for opener of the split! The whole crew wasn’t able to make it but we got out there a day early to see what we could find. Pretty good hike in there as always, lots of water from the flood and we saw a good amount of mallards. Safe to say this was the start to an eventful weekend… After a 600 yard hike out to the hole, a few deep creek crossings, quick run in with a beaver, Gabe falling in and a baby crappie ending up in his waders and one broken drive shaft later we ended up shooting a two man but would of shot a three man in 5 minutes if we would’ve stayed down there. When you see a big wad of mallards like that sometimes you have to go where people don't want to and that's what really sealed the deal for us. The adventure doesn’t stop here, we headed north to see if we could find some more birds. Temps were supposed to drop to about freezing overnight, the whole crew was on their way up, lots of mallards were flying the night before but it’s hunting they could be here one day and gone the next. We were all setup by 7:45, on the board by 8:30, cut ourselves each a little lane in some buck brush which ended up being the perfect hide - mainly used the morning as a little scouting trip and were able to see where the birds wanted to be exactly and allowed for some of the fog to lift. The afternoon was lights out, it was a great ending to the weekend. I don’t think they saw us all day, shot a 6 man limit, everyone was high fiving, great comradery, it just goes to show every chance you can - get out there with the guys!
