I realize I forgot to throw up my PC settings at 9:28 so here you go: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X GPU:RTX 2070 Super Motherboard: MPG X570 Gaming EDG RAM: 16GB I'm able to achieve 30fps with a mix of High and Medium settings in the game.

Maybe CPU has a lot more impact than I thought. I have a 7800x3d, and I haven't had a single moment of stutters like that, not in cutscenes and not in races.

@DirectorX59 I did a couple things to help. I messed with some of the default settings in graphics and dropped the resolution from 4k to 2k. Which def helped. And then my hard drive was kinda full so I cleared up an extra 60GB and the game was running better. Still tough to get 30fps in the city but usually sitting at 35-40 in the mountains

Time for new GPU. The game struggles with 2070, much better with a 3070 or 4000 series. I've got a 2070 on one PC and 3070 on another. The game is way better with the 3070. On that I get 50 - 70 fps on high settings.

@@WildLionGames they clearly state ssd is required, who in the hell still using hdd? also that gpu is out of date and 4k? you would be lucky if 1080p on low/medium would run consistent 60fps

@r3tr0c0e3 first of all I never said I had it stored on an HDD. It's stored on an SSD. And not everyone can afford a brand new GPU. The PC population who owns 3070s and higher is definitely lower than you think. It's the same issue cyberpunk had: the average pc gamer won't be able to run it and get good performance. I can run solar crown in 2k resolution at medium/high settings and get 30-40fps. I guess I still expect the quality of the graphics to be a bit better than what they are. I've watched gameplay with people playing on high/ultra and it still doesn't stand up to other open world games

Dude you spoke truth on this review, I was hoping to run into people on the Island that needed lifts, needed items delivered, and need cars transported. I hope they will bring this back in the game soon. Also owning houses was awesome as well they dropped the ball right now.

thanks man! and yeah they really did drop the ball. no houses, no deliveries, no clothing stores, no casino, the list goes on unfortunately. I would hold off and just keep your ear out for any updates down the road

I haven't had any connectivity issues so I couldn't speak on that from experience. I think what annoyed me the most is how in those gold editions we get access to cars right away like the Landrover and a Mercedes. and yet the game doesn't recognize I own those C and G class cars and so I STILL have to purchase one to continue making progress. so what was the point? now I have two G classes when I don't need two the early in the game

@@WildLionGames The connection issues are region based many could play and some could not, also the cars we got Is level locked I think only the Landrover was 12 the rest level 20, so we cannot just roll out on the start with good cars.

The hope was there for a high quality serious open world car collector/ car lifestyle game. But we got a badly running racing agme that just happens to be set in HK. Motorfest is too cringy, childish and too Ubisoft for my taste.

I agree the first two had much more depth. But I'm having so much fun racing in this game! The crew motorfest got boring for me real fast and it was really corny. The forza horizon series got stale for me.

I'm with ya. I went back and started playing the crew again after posting and it's soooooo boring. The driving in solar crown is just so good in comparison. I know it lacks depth and has issues but it does the most important part right: driving

Love ur review I subscribed to your channel I agree what u said about subaru I'm a subaru nut even the crew motorfest hasn't got subarus maybe they couldn't get the license for it hopefully when they fix all the issues and when they add dlc more dealerships plus more variety of cars hopefully subaru and fix the graphics online issues make it offline aslo as well & put all the stuff we like about tdu1 & 2 and it make the grind more better and more enjoyable to play

The most disappointing part for me is Hong Kong itself. When you choose such an iconic city as the stage for your game, it has to look awesome. Im talking bustling streets, cyberpunky neon-lit enviroments, sweeping views of the skyline... You know... freaking Hong Kong! And what we seem to get in this game is a very bland and generic looking city that could be anywhere. And sure, you could say that this game is not a city racer and its not about that but then, why choose Hong Kong as the setting because all im thinking... This doenst look like it at all...

I agree. when I was driving around in the city I just cant help but feel like Im missing something. I dont see the massive skyline from any vantage points or neon glowing buildings at night. its almost like there's a dense fog hovering over the city at all times and you cant see it. which sucks because of all the points you mentioned. I sortof view the solar hotel as this burj khalifa inspired building for the game but I'm not getting the same extravagant vibes.

Interesting. The open world is my favorite part of the game. In the GameRanx review he agrees. He says the open world is fantastic and you can see the dedication to making it feel like Hong Kong. Idk you might be surprised. I actually love Hong Kong in this game. It looks better when you're not in dense metropolitan areas.

Great review man. You are a natural. I just hate traffic cars don't have rollover physics! Definitely I will wait. This game has great potential but it's just unfinished. I would love to see visual customisation like body kits, spacers and stretch tires. Oh, and more wheel with the ability to paint them. It would be perfect. They are so, so close, yet so far.

This was one of the most comprehensive and forthright reviews I've seen for this game(which is deserving of a subscribe button hit.) Despite it's glitches, I have thoroughly enjoyed this game since it's official launch and it's only going to get better(especially so, with the upcoming patch fix download.) It seems clear that the employee strike(which was roughly half of the staff)...is the major reason for the unfinished state, of this release( but the dev's seem to be receptive to the feedback they've been receiving)...so Solar Crown has enormous potential to be a major banger in the racing game world. I have a really good feeling about the future of this game...

Thank you I really appreciate it! I have to say, I also have enjoyed the game as well. It's a good racing game when it comes to driving cars. I like the map, I don't think larger maps (the crew) mean a game is better. because I find the Crew's map very uninspiring and empty and it lacks a lot of elevation change on paved roads. anyways... I didn't hear about the employee strike, I would absolutely put money on it that's why the game came out in the state that it did and was also delayed for so long. Let's hope they continue to develop the game. I think if they fix some performance and graphical issues it'll bring in a lot of newcomers. but it needs that TDU flair, and right now it doesn't have that.

Just buy CarX Street. 20$. Better car list. Better car customization (like nfs). Great map. Great handling. Guaranteed support and future content that isnt something that shouldve been in the game at launch. Plus no server issues and its better optimized for performance. I eventually got it resolved by messing with the settings a bit. I've read about other people having similar issues where the game is telling them they're maxing out the GPU but their computer says their fine.

@@WildLionGames To me it looks like a vram issue because the framerate itself looks fine, its just the stutter. And thats usually caused by a lack of vram so the game has to "pause" to load in the next bit of data. Usually lowering the resolution solves that issue.
