This scene was so powerful. Both Julianna Margulies and Chris Noth played this very well. The two of them were excellent in this scene.

Rewatching the whole show, after so many years. I loved it back then, but as if didn't pay enough attention or didn't really understand how great this whole thing is. The acting is brilliant, not only the main cast, not only Julianna Margulies, the guest actors are insane. The writing is stunning most of the time. Very few actors can play the way Julianna does - when Alicia suffers you feel it full force, when she hates - it's almost scary. I love it. I love how they don't explain, don't chop it into small bites in order to be understood easier, they show you something, and let you make conclusions. It's just so good. Her "No"... - simple, quiet, broken, brutal. It's grim and hilarious she has to spell it for him - I lost my husband a long time ago. This man is so self-absorbed, that he didn't notice that their relationships, and marriage ended ages ago, even though she sort of tried to mend it for a while, she gave up. Completely. I think at some point she only saw him as just a figure around her, a ghost from some previous life or something, living, breathing, but non-important. One of the most powerful men in a whole huge city or even state, and she sees him as an annoying background, she can use from time to time. Amazing development of a character!

Amazing scene! But seriously.. is Peter so stupid to really think that will was just a friend for Alicia? Wtf he was jealous half of the time because he knew alicia loved him. And now she finally realized that when she lost him.

Peter’s not stupid, he knows it. Alicia knows that he knows, but he pretends that he doesn’t know and she pretends that he believes that he doesn’t know, but knows that he knows. Everybody knows. He doesn’t wanna give her more ammo than what she already has.
