The first part of the _ga cookie refers to the version of GA (UA of GA4), but what if you're still running both properties and sending data to both? When looking at my GA4 data, I can see _ga cookies with GA1.2? How does this work.

I work with Data Privacy team, With GDPR new regulations, Cookie should have lifespan less than 13months! Any idea when will Google, come up with a solution to it?

I don't understand why is _ga cookies loading before the consent of the user from the plugin. Yes I did add the tracking code in the plugin, Yes I did lear the cache, still I have a script in the headre of the website from Gtag that is loading before the consent... How do I solve this? What does create the ga cookies? if I delete all tracking codes and delete the plugin, the cookie is still there... how do I deal with it?

It is not illegal to store cookies if a user declines consent. It IS illegal to store MORE cookies if the user declines consent. Every cookie stores when it was created it can be verified by professionals whether your site is following GDPR however if you store tracking information in session storage and send it with post requests you don't need to follow GDPR at all or even ask for consent
