I think when the great ghoul was once Cats VS Ghosts teams. Momo was the Cat referee, and they made the spider as the ghost referee. They look similar because they had the same purpose, but when they changed it to be ghosts against ghosts, they got rid of momo, so now we just have a momo looking spider.

My theory for the animals is there’s two types of animals. The anthro animals like Momo and Froggy are, like, evolved version of those animals, while the animals that get eaten, or are less sentient are unevolved-or maybe they just have a common ancestor, so it isn’t as weird as it might seem

One thing I noticed while watching this summary was that the chocolate bar section of the Candy Cup game has ghosts that act as obstacles. I point this out because they have a similar design and angry expression to the ones in the Magic Cat Academy games. It doesn't have much significance besides cementing the Candy Cup to occur before Magic Cat Academy, but it still bears mentioning.

Nice that I'm seeing this just after I watched the first! :D Anyways, I wanna say something about how I believe the aftermath of the Candy Cup and the ghosts are related. As you said, only three of the four ghosts on the green team seem to have corresponding traits to the four witches of the Candy Cup, Jade having a book out and reading it while waiting on the loading screen seems to be an ode to Green, Sage having iconic glasses or shades that stand out similar to how Blue has iconic star shaped glasses, and olive being a cat ghost is basically referencing Yellow's obsession with cats. However, Red is much more like Plum from the purple ghost team in demeanor rather than Kelly. So, when thinking about this, I was thinking that red, as shown when we see that yellow has won the Candy Cup and is with the trophy while the other three witches are in the bottom right corner, was not happy with the results, seemingly angry with the fact that Yellow won. So, going off from the last video, if Green really did start gathering manuscripts and was on her way to build the Magic Cat academy, then I think the the other two witches helped her but not red since she hadn't won and may have partly blamed the other two as the reason of her loss or thought of the other three as in the wrong and that she should've won. So she was basically not on their side at that point in time but I like to believe that eventually her tenderheartedness came through so she came to terms with it, set aside her pride, and helped the other witches out, even if she was a little late in helping out. Now how does this relate to the ghosts and their attributes to the witches? Well, as we can see, there are ghosts present on the scene where the Candy Cup takes place. So, most likely back when the Candy Cup had just finished, either the ghosts we see now in the Great Ghoul Duel were the ghosts who tried to cause mischief on the scene for the witches or they knew the ghosts who did that and those ghosts told them about the witches and their competition, so then, some way some how, they started to admire the witches for who they were ig. Fast forward to the GGD and since it is thought that ghosts are able to take just about whatever form they wish, I guess that they kind of adapted the traits of the witches since the witches are overall generic in style but I guess that would slightly explain Olive's form as a cat as a cat is seen with Yellow and is kind of an attribute that sets or puts some emphasis on her in a way. SO, if they are basically trying to be like their idols or those witches they admire, it would also explain plum being on a different team than the other three since the Red witch I believe had some kind of rebellion/thing against the other three after the tournament for a bit but it would explain why Plum is seen with Jade since if Plum wants to be like the red witch then it's very possible they also are a bit tenderhearted at heart and have a tendency to cave in at times or smth. Also, is it unrealistic to think that most or all of the ghosts at least know each other, if not are friends? It would kind of explain why the GGD is a yearly thing but it necessarily doesn't have to be that way. For all we know the ghosts may have not known each other until the GGD and ig bonded over it. Plus, since the ghosts seem to keep appearing and Causing mischief around Halloween, do you thing there's some kind of like "ghost fever" or some kind of spirit in the air that just makes ghosts more prone to causing mischief during that time? If so, that may explain why the GGD came to be, as you said, so that Momo can keep the ghosts under control and prevent them from destroying stuff and causing possibly severe damage during that specific time, or just all year round in general. One more thing I would like to add is, even though this is from the last video, I think the reason why instead of the lightning spell there's a kind of swirl spell that does a similar effect is that if Momo did use such a spell in the ocean that would basically cause a lot of damage to just about everything in the vicinity including herself and the sea life so I think that was opted out bc it wouldn't makes sense to have a spell that could possibly get out of control and cause harm to the caster themselves so yeah. I honestly didn't mean for this to be this long, can't believe I even wrote that much... ,:'D...

Some of my theories: Theroy 1: The 2015 witches are flying across time throughout the (fictional) history, considering how absurdly powerful Momo is and there's no way they aren't far stronger than Momo Why I made the assumption: The background in the 2015 candy cup seem to be roughly in time order from medieval to modern, plus there's no way a medieval craftsman know how to make glasses, possibly the blue witch educating the craftsman about modern stuff(?) Theory 2: The helmet/bubble Froggy gave to Momo is so durable because of Froggy being the Google weather mascot Why I made the assumption: Well it's Google weather Theory 3: The meat we saw in the Earth Day slideshow are probably from some other sources rather than... you know, cannibalism. For example downloaded from Google, God magically spawning resources... Why I made the assumption: No particular reason, just feel like cannibalism definetly won't be the case, and food magically spawning really isn't a big deal since in 2024 candies literally rained from the sky

Something I'd like to say is that in the new valentines doodle, when you mix together Argon and Flouride, you get a nice image of a pet shop. However, in the top right corner, you can see a cat who looks remarkably like Momo. This may mean nothing, but I like to think Momo was just hanging out in there in her cat form. Your logic that the pangolin game couldn't take place after Champion Island because of the arcade machine is sound, but there's another instance of a video-game in there leads to an interesting train of thought. Yes, that's right, ladies and gentlemen, I'm referring to the fact that THESE GAMES HAPPEN AS THEY'RE PLAYED. If Momo is to be trusted, that she really is ACTIVELY playing Champion Island AS IT HAPPENS, Pangolin Love could be even more involved than we ever dreamed of. My theory is that it actually DOES take place in the future, and the reason it's not happening yet is because nobody's PLAYING IT YET. Picture this... The pink pangolin and purple pangolin (who I'll now call "Pink" and "Purple" for simplicity's sake) are already a couple in the Philippines. But tragically, Pink is called away to Champion Island for some unknown reason. Pink and Purple miss each other, and Pink wonders if Purple has forgotten. Pink's also not allowed to leave. But today he's been told by some random friend that he'll get a very special letter later on, and is very excited for it. Who's that "special someone" he's waiting for? THE ONE DELIVERING THE LETTER. And WHO'S delivering the letter? OLIVE THE OTTER!! She delivers the message that he's free to go, and is transported to the place which has the secret entrance to the island, Ghana. Champion Island is a strange, mystical place, so whether it's actually close to Ghana probably doesn't matter. Pink actually starts to like it in Ghana, and considers it better than the Philippines, when... a message arrives. It's from Purple! Purple had gotten wind of Pink's release, and now obviously wants to get back together! So, Pink makes the journey, and like anyone who hasn't seen their loved one in that long, wants to have something to show for it. So, along the way, Pink learns all these skills, but at the end of the day, they're just happy to see each other again. Pink then invites Purple to move to Ghana, where they live happily ever after. I rest my case.

I have a feeling Momo and Lucky do use magic to jump between the two dimensions: The Doodle-verse, and the Human Realm, however, the Doodle-verse has adopted some things from the Human Realm, such as Appalachian Trail. I also theorized that the Pangolins are native to the Human Realm, but have learned to do human-like things (e.g. being bipedal, talking) from the animals in the Doodle-verse, with the evidence to the characters from the Doodle-verse that they're in a game being visible to them, however, not to those native to the Human Realm. I dunno man. It just seems plausible to me.

Just an interesting thing I noticed: the four colors in googles logo are red blue green and yellow, just like the four witches, HOWEVER also like the four champion island guardians you can choose which team to be a part of, it’s kind of like the whole witch competition all over again where players join a team and decide which one will win

It actually makes sense for the witches to be ghosts since all the hats are worn out. Although that doesn't tie in much with us seeing the arcades with the game on the island, maybe those aren't particularly canon? Or actually could be that the ghosts are kind of avatars of the witches, it also ties in nicely with there being merch since the witches were competing last time, and this could just a game as well. Maybe Monica, I mean Momo used her 4-th wall breaking magic to make this a game.

Theory: Everything started when a bunch of people teleported to the google doodle lands and four of this people were teenagers who desided to learn magic. At 2015 was the candy cup after witch green, blue and yellow witches became close friends and together created a magic academy. Also I think the red witch is the bad guy who made the gnosts attack the magic academy, cause she was jealous. Honestly I think that four witches will comeback in next doodles. I loved the video, it has super much effort and I hope that you will make more videos about google doodle lore.

Perhaps the “being in a game” thing is just similar to being in a movie, the character being cast to act it out beforehand and the game is made afterwards detailing the events, so Momo and Lucky controlling each other is directly doing so, instead they are controlling an afterimage of sorts. I’m doing a poor job at explaining it, but I think it would make sense if I weren’t just bad at getting my thoughts down on paper

if momo is in fact a shapeshifter, a possible explanation for it is that shes the yellow witch’s familiar. in classical and modern witch mythologies familliars are spirits that take the form of animals to assist witches - the three forms we see her are both animals, so itd track. itd also put a nice thematic bow on her running the ggd and befriending jinx, because shes also a kind of ghost.

Kind of funny how calico cats are considered lucky, because Momo is a black cat and those are typically seen as bad luck. It could be a coincidence, but I think that Momo's design might have had some influence on Lucky's. More evidence for this is the fact that the cats appear to be friends (or possibly lovers) in the Celebrating Bubble Tea doodle. Maybe it could say something about their relationship dynamic, like a "night and day" or "opposites attract" sort of trope.

@@antonioaguiar81 Yk the only reason why shipping exists is when a relationship is NOT cannon. It doesn't need to be cannon for you to ship it. Also, what exactly is wrong with shipping them? They aren't related, their likely around the same age, and they don't have a weird or toxic dynamic. It's fine if you DON'T ship them, just let other people have their own little headcannons about characters and mind your own business.

I have a little theory that could be a little bit of a stretch, but maybe the books from the Magic Cat Academy Anthology: The Adventures of Momo could have little magic tips at the ends like *cough cough* teleporting. Seeing as Lucky must be a pretty big fan of Magic Cat Academy, she probably read the whole series and got a magic tip at the end of one of the books.
